We dive deep into Duncan's youth sports experiences, and how those experiences paved the road toward being recruited to play soccer for the his dream school, the Clemson Tigers. Duncan talks about how the love of the game and building technical skills as a young player, helped him as he grew into his body as a teenager. Duncan stresses the importance of young players to have fun, but also to work hard to do their best at each stage of the game in order to achieve their dreams. In this episode we dive deep into DJ's upbringing and how sports kept him out of trouble, ultimately leading him to the SEC via football scholarship and drafted by the Chicago Bears. DJ talks about life after football, and the transition into being a full time teacher at Spartanburg High School and dad to 4 children. We had the privilege of sitting down with Tyler Beveridge, 15 year old soccer phenom out of Greenville, SC who is currently playing at Charlotte FC via MLS NEXT program. Tyler was able to bring his Dad with him to the podcast, which added a unique flavor to this episode to hear both sides of the soccer story from not only the players view, but also the parents viewpoint. This is an incredibly inspirational episode, and will really hit home with young athletes striving to reach the MLS NEXT level of play, and to their parents regarding advice on how to help your child achieve their dreams. We had the pleasure of sitting down with our friend and successful entrepreneur, Ford Elliott. Ford has an incredible youth sports story in Tennis, that found him as the number one ranked teenage tennis player in the United States in the mid-90s. He unfolds the story of how he achieved his ranking, and how the lessons he learned in his tennis career carried over to his successful business career after college. Ford has an incredible story, but in the midst of his story he makes it very clear how his family keeps him motivated and centered throughout all of his achievements. Ford has 5 children all of which are going through their own youth sports stories at this time. Ford speaks on how he personally approaches youth sports with his own children, and the importance of letting his children develop their own path in life whether it be through sports or any other ventures they may choose.
