  • What the Fireflies Knew - Kai Harris
    Mar 26 2024

A coming-of-age story with a quiet undertone you would share with a friend.

Kai does a masterful job of taking you an advantage with high and low that feel real.

Being a Black Author doesn't mean the stories you create aren't universal.

My part of our interview is this quote.

All of our stories are universal because we have humanity in common. And that's something that I really wanted to highlight.

I am excited to share "What The Fireflies Knew By Kai Harris.

As someone who grew up with "Tom Sawyer" and "Little Women" as required reading, I fully appreciate that understanding can be gained from everyone's experience.

This book represents a universal experience from a different perspective.

I love that it is a quiet story, showing that there is room for all stories; drama and tragedy aren't the only things that sell books.

    Congratulations to Kai Harris:
