The NHL preseason is in full swing and with it, injuries have come. Auston Matthews missed the last preseason game for the Toronto Maple Leafs although the team insists his situation is not serious. Drew Doughty will miss substantial time for the Los Angeles Kings after suffering a broken ankle and Arthur Kaliyev suffered a broken clavicle.

Contract negotiations are also ongoing with two star goalies. We discuss the issues with the contract of Jeremy Swayman of the Boston Bruins and Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers. The two situations are very different but both teams need to get them straightened out.

And there is a full slate of preseason games this weekend including the Buffalo Sabres playing in Germany and a full slate of preseason NHL action.
