    Paul Jones and Kate Charlton talk to Annie Emmerson.

    Annie Emmerson is a former international athlete, who competed in triathlon, duathlon and running.  Over a ten-year period she raced in all three sports for Great Britain winning five major medals. 

    She retired at the top of her sport in 2006 as the World #1 Duathlete.  Since retiring from professional sport she has worked in a multitude of rolls including lead ITU World Series race commentator for the BBC.   She also works as the main reporter in the new, exciting and innovative Super League Triathlon Series!

    Annie has worked at the Olympics as a presenter and commentator of the triathlon races.

    In 2020 she launched the Her Spirit Podcast with Louise Minchin – interviewing an incredible list of amazing women, which have included the likes of Mel C, Dame Kelly Holmes, Claudia Hammond, Jo Whiley and Dame Sarah Storey to name just a few.

    That’s just some of the highlights, she is also coach. 

    This is well worth a listen... Annie talks about different coaches, Super league Triathlon, working for the BBC, the "Her Spirit podcast" and wine!

    Another episode of the PK Triathlon Podcast, another amazing guest... this time Paul Jones and Kate Charlton are joined by Joel Filliol.

    Joel Filliol is internationally recognized as one of triathlon’s most successful performance leaders. From Olympic Games, to Elite World Championships, and across disciplines from Junior, Development, ITU, non-drafting, long distance and Ironman, Joel has guided athletes and Federations to world class success at the highest levels.

    Joel has recently been announced by Triathlon Australia as their Podium Centre Head Coach.

    Through his independent elite multi-national triathlon squad #JFTcrew, consisting of Olympic athletes focusing on the ITU World Triathlon Series.

    Joel has supported athletes to achieve more than 30 World Triathlon Series winning performances as part of more than 90 World Triathlon Series podiums, and 6 overall World Triathlon Elite World Championships Titles.

    We really enjoyed this conversation with a coaching legend.  We talk about kids, accents, moving to Australia, Yum Yums and of course coaching!

    Events are coming! In this PK Triathlon Podcast episode, Kate Charlton and Paul Jones are joined by race organiser Rob Wilkins from TriHard Events.

    Rob and his team organise, amongst other events The Helvellyn Triathlon – one of the toughest events in England, which was won last year by Alistair Brownlee and The Dalesman – a full distance Triathlon based at Ripon in Yorkshire.
