About this listen

Veteran journalist Jon Snow gives us unique, untold stories and fresh insight into some of the most poignant news moments in history. Using original news tapes from the ITN archive, Jon takes us behind the scenes of some of the most significant news events of his reporting career.

As well as giving a new perspective on these moments in history, Jon reflects on what he considers to be the principles of good journalism and how those principles have helped him throughout his nearly 45 years of reporting.

By the end of the series you will have insider knowledge of Jon's reporting of the fall of the Berlin Wall, 9/11, the Haiti Earthquake of 2010, the Gaza conflict in 2014, the Grenfell tower fire and Jon's interviews with world leaders over the course of his career so far.

This is a masterclass in journalism like never before, told by one of the country's most renowned and established members of the journalism industry.

Jon Snow must be one of the last 'old school' journalists. In his day they told it has it actually was, genuine and truthful.....not fake ! A pleasure to hear his story. He is surely a dying breed and the new journalists of today would do well to follow in his footsteps to grab the sincerity that a good report needs.

Great insights, honestly told, by an A-class presenter. Can't recommend it enough! The personal side to the stories is what makes this stand out from anything else I've listened to.
