• Leadership and Healthy Teams with coach Alexander Duncan
    Nov 12 2024

Alex has a leadership coaching business called August Consulting where he helps leaders hone their skills to make sure their teams are high performing, healthy units. His background in special operations during his military service gives him a unique perspective. We discussed practices to remain calm, how to set your day up so that as the leader, you show up your best, giving yourself time between interactions, etc. All of these were powerful tips that seem so simple yet many leaders fail to use and implement. Alex had clear, crisp answers and is obviously a master of his craft. Please enjoy this episode and share with your colleagues.

  • Advanced Medical Directives with Dr. Cyril Barch
    Oct 29 2024

Dr. Cyril Barch is a retired internal medicine and geriatric specialist who has decided to devote some of his time in retirement to encouraging people to put Advanced Medical Directives in place. AMD's are documents that instruct a medical team on what to do and not to do if you are medically incapacitated and can't make your own decisions. This document can help alleviate stress from family members and loved ones because you have pre-determined what will happen in this horrible situation. So many people don't know this type of document exists and just as many avoid the topic because it is unpleasant to talk about. But Dr. Barch is working to open those conversations, provide free resources and encourage businesses and teams to talk about this very important topic.

  • Grapevine CEO Luka Yancopoulos - Transforming the Supply Chain in Medicine
    Sep 25 2024

As a college student and son of parents in the medical professions, Luka saw what the COVID-19 situation did to the front-line providers of care in terms of getting supplies on time, of good quality and definitely at a fair price. He built a supply chain marketplace to help facilitate this and it caught on. Now he and his team have built Grapevine into a marketplace not just for times of crisis, but in day to day operations of medical facilities. We discussed the genesis of Grapevine, where it is now and the service it provides in the marketplace. We're excited we got to talk with Luka and hear his story so we could share it with our audience.

  • Happy Sol Wellness company founder Tammy Nevin
    Sep 10 2024

Tammy Nevin was a busy realtor and mom who, like many during the Covid years, found herself stuck at home and needing to find options for caring for herself without access to the usual places. But options like red light were either expensive or cheaply made so she set out to build her own version of products that found the happy medium and Happy Sol Wellness was born.
Tammy talks about how red light has helped her skin, sleep, helped her husband and his bad back and she has success stories from customers to share as well. Her journey is one of health, entrepreneurship and determination and we think everyone will enjoy this episode.

  • Carnivore Snax with company founder Sylvia Tabor
    Aug 6 2024

We always enjoy the opportunity to talk business and health and this episode was full of both topics! Sylvia Tabor healed herself from some significant health issues (physical and mental) using the carnviore diet and couldn't find a portable, shelf stable food to help her continue her journey. Using her mechanical engineering background, personal drive, and perseverance, she created what is now her brand Carnivore Snax. From growing a company, moving across the country, nearly losing it all, Sylvia has maintained her health through it all. She now can share her knowledge and passion with her teams and continue to grow her company. This is a really great story for our audience. (and we hear Joe Rogan likes them too!!)

  • Crowdfunding your Healthcare with Crowdhealth CEO Andy Schoonover
    Jul 16 2024

When Andy Schoonover found out that a basic procedure for his daughter could've cost him many thousands less than what he ultimately paid, he knew there was a better way to pay for healthcare and he setup a business to do just that. Crowdhealth was born from this frustration and the desire to help others lower their healthcare costs and streamline the process. This is a community-based system where members pay a monthly fee and then voluntarily contribute more to help others knowing that when their day of need arrives, the community will help them too. He goes into great detail in this episode about the mechanics of the system, pricing, future plans, etc. If the idea of working outside the healthcare system is appealing to you, this edition of the show is one you'll enjoy.

  • Effective Communication: Leading and Maintaining Initiatives in your Business Dr. Wendy Anson
    Jul 2 2024

We spent time with Dr. Anson today. Her varied background and journey to her coaching and training business makes her an important part of the conversation we're looking for on our show. Dr. Anson stressed the importance of buy-in by front-line managers and also how we need to not use generational descriptions to gauge how an employee will act once hired. She really had some great perspectives and new studies (linked below). If you're in HR, ownership or other leadership capacity in your business, this episode is very much worth your time.
