Transgender inmates face a greater degree of violent sexual assaults while incarcerated and this episode examines ways to eliminate the use of violence toward the Transgender population. I will also talk about housing for the Transgender inmate population and ways to protect their safety while in the custody of the Department of Corrections and what the prisons can do to better care for these vulnerable inmates and uphold the rights Transgender inmates have while incarcerated in the prison system.
