    I. Trusting God Despite Shame

As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

    Romans 10:11 (NIV84)

II. Pleading for Mercy in Light of Youthful Sin

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

    Colossians 2:13–14 (NASB95)

III. Walking in Humility Before a Holy God

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”

    James 4:6 (NASB95)

IV. Living in the Fear of the Lord

How blessed is the man who fears always,

But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

    Proverbs 28:14 (NASB95)

So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

    Acts 9:31 (NASB95)

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

    2 Corinthians 7:1 (NASB95)

Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

    Matthew 10:28 (NASB95)

    V. Assurance in the God Who Redeems

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

    Romans 8:1 (NASB95)

“He who knew no sin became sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

    2 Corinthians 5:21

    I. The Reality of Isolation

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

    John 14:16–18 (NIV84)

    II. The Cry for Deliverance

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

    Galatians 6:2 (NASB95)

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

    Romans 12:15 (NASB95)

    III. The Hope of Restoration

so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds! “And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life’s span? “If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters?

    Luke 12:24–26 (NASB95)
