「日本の富裕層は地味な人が多い。ねたみ社会だから、いわゆる成金でないかぎり、目立つことはしない」。そんなおとなしい日本の富裕層が今、大きく動き出している。日本は実は富裕層大国。１億円以上の金融資産を持つ人は180万人いる。
　夜景の見える高級レストランでフランス料理に舌鼓。富裕層の消費というとステレオタイプなイメージがつきまとうが、実際のところ日本の富裕層が求めているのは、おカネで買えるぜいたくだけではないようだ。富裕層がもっとも力を入れる投資は、宝飾品でもワインでも、株でもない。「富を継承する次世代の教育だ」と、富裕層にかかわる人たちは異口同音に言う。教育を筆頭に、彼らの３大関心事は、教育、投資、税対策だ。税制面では富裕層への課税強化が打ち出される一方、株高の追い風もあり、消費は活発になっている。
