Summary

Being the hero of a zombie apocalypse ain’t easy. People expect you to defeat lunatics, save survivors, and recover treasure when you would rather just make time with your girl. Mo Collins can’t avoid his scripted destiny; his personal oracle, Smokes, won’t let him. He can still bitch about it, though.

The crew of the replica pirate ship, the Viva Ancora, is growing, and the characters of this cast are fulfilling their roles toward destiny. As the group swells, the need to clear the town of the infected and secure Guntersville Island becomes paramount. Isolation from the world will protect them from the naked, blue, undead cannibals - or will it?

Something’s not right with these “zombies”; the script is verging into the unwritten. The more contact the team has with their predatory enemies, the less certain they are of their actions. Are they wiping out a plague...or murdering a new order?

Follow Mo and his crew as they try to skew fate and carve out their own society on an Alabama lake where the fish bite, the Zombies bite...and sometimes life bites. Welcome ashore, friend, to Zombie Island!

Great listen!

Really enjoyed the second installment, I love how the series just flows from one book to the next.

Falling in love with the characters

The plot thickens just like peevee crap. very funny and well written. Javan Bonds continues his whacky brand of unique writing and close to the edge humour. highly recommended

They keep getting better!

The second novel in this series did not disappoint. It had several laugh-out-loud moments and more than a few giggle-to-myself ones.

In Zombie Island we still follow Mo, but we also get to see a couple of other's perspective. This only added to the story, and made it even better. Mo still continues writing his journal, but not every chapter. It has more action than the previous one, which was an added bonus!

S.W. Salzman did an outstanding job with the voices, all of which are easily distinguishable.

I'll be moving on to the next novel in this series, and I'm confident mr. Bonds will continue to amaze and amuse me!

Loving this series

It’s great. Javan has a way with writing and a way with Zombies!!! You get comedy but still get the zombie gore we all crave. Gonna keep reading since I need to know what else happens!!! If you follow the author you will also learn he is just a real cool dude that wrote a freaking awesome zombie series. I couldn’t possibly imagine the voices for these characters being portrayed by anyone other than S. W. Salzman.

Mo & friends ride again!

The apocalypse is still as unpredictable and fun as ever, but there are still so many questions: Where are the zombie bodies disappearing to and why? What will it take for Mo to kiss Sarah? Who does the Oracle have on speed dial, and what was he before May day? Answers on a post card or keep reading! And somebody pass me the next book - now!

Excellent

Another winner in the continuing saga... Mo is the antithesis of a normal hero, just not what you would expect...

My guilty pleasure!

Having listened to the first book in this series, I felt my only option was to listen to book 2. The story is filled with dark humour and SW Salzman really brings it to life with his eclectic range of Southern accents.
Thoroughly enjoyable
