Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The razor-sharp new novel from the million-copy Sunday Times best-selling author of Queen Bee and Faking Friends.

Best friends tell each other everything. Or do they?

Georgia and Lydia are so close they're practically sisters. So when Lydia starts an online business that struggles, Georgia wants to help her - but she also understands Lydia's not the kind to accept a handout.

Setting up a fake Twitter account, Georgia hopes to give her friend some anonymous moral support by posing as a potential customer. But then Lydia starts confiding in her new internet buddy, and Georgia discovers she doesn't know her quite as well as she thought.

Georgia knows she should reveal herself, but she's fascinated by this insight into her friend's true feelings. Especially when Lydia starts talking about her. Until Lydia reveals a secret that could not only end their friendship but also blow up Georgia's marriage.

Georgia's in too deep. But what can she save? Her marriage, her friendship - or just herself?

Love it

Every Jane Fallon book gets better and better. Love her partner, so knew I would love her writing. A great starting off premise which soars off like an out of control rocket !
The narrator does not pronounce g at the end of her words- (Rather like how Priti Patel does not either) which I find irritating. So if you don`t mind tryin listenin without it annoyin you then great.

Not my fav Jane Fallon book

I reviewed this book in two parts as I didn't want to forget the first part by the time I got to the end. I like Jane Fallon but this book felt rushed/incomplete

*Spoiler alert*

The book takes the usual JF structure. Part 1 was a bit long winded. The Patricia, Lydia and Georgie trio was a great plot when it started. From page 1 of the book it was off to a great start, I was hooked but 20 chapters in was hoping part 2 picked up. Or rather was not going to be as predictable as I was suspecting

Part 2 was better than the first part and the story line moved quicker.

Am just really sad I didn't like this book as much as her last books. This felt like a mesh of a previous book (getting rid of Matthew ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and queen B but the JF twist just never came.
For starters, Patricia/ Georgia's slip up was obvious when it happened and the reveal was a bit messy. (Lydia said she realised from reading and copying each others work which was different to Georgie)

In the end I concluded the catfishing may have been the twist. I was hoping the other couple were going to add some depth but their parallel storyline was equally as predictable.

Lydia's character was also just all over the place. First she was annoyed with Georgia, then that just happened to coincide with her feelings for Nick which then propelked her to do what she did.

To conclude on a positive, it's an easy listen and the ending, though predictable is good.

Not that great

Unfortunately this is just a rehash of a couple of other books by Jane Fallon about friends/frenemies

Jane Fallon’s Best Yet.

Firstly, the narrators did a brilliant job, it always helps when the book is so brilliantly read. Jane Fallon has written many bestsellers, this one is my favourite so far. It has a rip roaring pace, the plot is superb, with her usual well drawn characters, and dog. and the twists and turns expected, the deception and flawed personalities, the suspense, ah it was s thoroughly entertaining read. I finished it in a day and wanted more. I highly recommend that you give this a listen.

got so boring!

it started out great but the plot was basically over with with 90 minutes left! I found myself asking "what is this book about anymore" waiting for a twist... something to happen in the last hour. nothing! really disappointed with this one.

This choice of narrator wasn't the best idea ever

I am a big fan of Jane Fallon's books and have listened to all of them on audible, however, the main characters are supposed to be 45 yet 'Georgia's' story is narrated by a gushy, breathless young woman who is clearly in her thirties.

Otherwise, another true gem from Ms Fallon
