Story
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

Story
Brad Woods has performed a lot of autopsies, but never one like this. The body is purged of all blood. Fear has made Sue Wing run from the darkened school and into night, a fear so powerful she can only name it using the Cantonese myths of her grandmother: Cup-hu-girngsi, the corspe who drinks blood. Reporters like Rich Carter don't believe in the supernatural, but all the signs are pointing to the same conclusion: a vampire is stalking the streets of Rio Verde. No, Rich Carter doesn't believe in such things. Not yet.

Story
Michelle and Cliff Stage bought their isolated vacation cabin in the mountains of North Carolina with hopes of repairing their 18-year marriage. But when Cliff disappears one night searching for the source of a mysterious light in the woods, Michelle’s life will change in unimaginable ways. After the sheriff’s department fails to find him, Michelle scrambles down the same dark mountainside alone, the strange, beckoning light her only guide.
Summary
From the mind of the man Stephen King calls "a master of the macabre", comes a brilliant new collection of no-punches-pulled horror stories, some never-before-collected and many originals that have never been published anywhere before. Bentley Little can take the innocuous, twist it around, and write a story that will change your way of thinking. Walking Alone: Short Stories is a shining example of his talent to scare you, creep you out, and make you shudder.

Gets better and better
It’s unfortunate that one of the previous listeners gave up on this anthology after only two hours. I agree that some of the early stories were flawed and not as engaging as most of Little’s fiction. However, because the stories are compiled in chronological order, one can really see how Little’s writing evolved and improved over time. Fans of Bentley Little’s work are sure to find many creepy gems in this collection, if they stick with it.

hit and misses everywhere
Bentley is my favorite Horror author hands down but when it comes to his short story work its IMO literally Hits and Misses with no middle ground. the Hits would make Great full books ,even some of the misses could be salvaged with more depth and context. overall very mixed bag for me. The narratiors where all great though

I just can't!
I tried. I'm returning this book. I've listened to two hours of it and I can't listen to another second. Bentley Little is just hit or miss for me. This one is a big miss. It's just weird. Not even good weird, but like half a thought weird. It doesn't make me think about fascinating things I haven't thought before or scare me at all. It makes me think that there really must be more to that story, but there isn't. It reminds me of reading a short story from the 6th grade. It goes nowhere. I'm sorry. I feel awful, but it's just not that good. None of the stories so far are worth the listen for me. And the narrator... I thought before it was that particular book, but I"m not a fan of the narrator either. :-( Again.. I feel bad. It's just not his best work for me at all. Or even acceptable work quite frankly. This should have have stayed unpublished.
