Summary

How can I be the person I want to be when I’m stuck in a job I hate? How is it possible to stay present in an era of nearly constant distractions? Can I pick someone up at a bar or club and still call myself spiritual? This nitty-gritty guide to life for the spiritual-but-not-necessarily-religious uses Buddhist teachings to answer those burning questions and a host of others related to going out, relationships, work, and social action.

Based on Lodro Rinzler’s popular advice columns, Walk like a Buddha offers wisdom that can be applied to just the sort of dilemmas that tend to arise for anyone making even a modest attempt to walk like a Buddha - that is, to live with honesty, wisdom, and compassion in the face of whatever life surprises you with.

Great info, not the smoothest narration

This book was full of real life valuable info for how to be a Buddha in this day and age. It's real and down to earth, compassionate and understanding of the times we live in. Will be recommending it to anyone who struggles being a human and a Buddhist in today's world. Such a great find! Loved it!

Relevant Buddhism

Lodro Rinzler is a excellent teacher with a great voice to read his own book. All of the questions he answers in this book give us a way to translate Buddhism for the 21st century.

Worth listening too but..

It was mostly good and interesting but The author contradicts himself considering he helped Obama win twice even though Obama screwed over several middle eastern countries and American soldiers.

down to earth Buddhism

I've listened to several Buddhist books recently, alan watts has been great for entertaining philosophy. Tich Nat Hahn has been great for Buddhism from a modern monk.

this was a great perspective from a more everyday person. It was well written and had good insight

Great easy introduction into being more calm

He really touched on so many topics that now I want to go even more in depth with his other books. I also like the quick meditations included at the end.
