Přichází však další vražda - tentokrát Betty Bernardové na pláži v Bexhillu a pak třetí - lorda Carmichaela Clarka v Curstonu. Poirot i Hastings vzdorují něčemu horšímu než je obyčejný zločin, čelí šílenství...
