Loved the first series though Izzy is very overdramatic but her charm (conveyed by the excellent Imelda Staunton) more than makes up for it and she’s not the push over you think she maybe. However, the storyline is only just believable in series 2 and fairly chaotic and non-existent in series 3. Unfortunately, the expectations set up in series 1 aren’t matched by the end of series 3 and although glad to be in Imelda’s company, you’re glad when you are finally put out of misery and the book ends.

Very funny - pre cursor to Bridget Jones diary but for an older woman. Her sexual antics and the scrapes she gets into. Whilst holding down a job as a teacher and helping her friends navigates their relationships.

Imelda Staunton at her best - worth buying and will listen again.

I loved this story so much, I couldn't stand Izzy the main lady, from the start she in my opinion (I'm sure others viewed her differently) was ditsy well past the point of annoying, very naive, selfish and managed to get her self caught in unbelievable situations all due to her being unbelievably wrapped up in her self. all this actually made me love the story ,I felt sorry for everyone who had to put up with her lol.
