Summary

Gabrielle Astley is quite used to being an afterthought, a burden, a nuisance. As the only child - and a useless female one at that - to a Baron, she was both spoiled materially and neglected emotionally. After her father's death, his third wife and her stepmother is remarried, to the stern and cold Marquess of Dunbury. Since the new Baron wants nothing to do with Gabrielle, the Marquess is her new guardian and Gabrielle finds herself in London, receiving her debut. Despite this turn of events, she can't quite shake her spite of her stepmother, and her attitude lands her into hot water and her first spanking at the hand of her guardian.

The Marquess seems eager to marry her off, and Gabrielle has no objection to that goal. London has everything she ever wanted - glamor, excitement, and, for some reason, quite a few people actually seem to like and take an interest in her. When the Marquess' best friend, the rakish Felix Hood becomes one of those people, Gabrielle finds herself hoping for more than just a standard ton marriage...until she begins to realize that he's not interested in her for herself, and his interest may actually be in someone close to her.

Felix Hood had no thoughts of settling down in marriage - as the youngest of three brothers, he should be the last to wed. However, when he meets his best friend Philip's new ward and is tasked with the duty of helping guard her against any unsavory suitors (as well as guarding Philip's new wife from Miss Astley's waspish tongue), he can't help but be entranced by her. She's not the usual milk and water miss that is served up to the gentlemen of the tongue; she's prickly, funny, and has a touch of sadness in her eyes that he longs to discover the cause of so that he may vanquish it. But he's not convinced he's ready for marriage, and his hesitation over formally courting her leads Miss Astley to turn to her other suitors, making him wonder if she's really worth the chase.

Golden Angel delivers once again

Golden Angel always writes with steam, discipline and a lot of spunk. Undisciplined is a great incite to Gabrielle. Gabrielle is a spoiled brat. When things change, and her mother wants to marry her off, the story steams up. A lot of fun spunk from Gabrielle, and strong alpha male discipline creates an interesting story that is hard to put down.

Rebecca McKernan narrated this story well. She has an easy to listen to voice. Rebecca kept the character's voices separate and distinct. I liked the speed at which Rebecca read at. I enjoyed the narration of this story.

Very unusual

This book is not like your usual renaissance book. It is very well developed and well written. This book was very exciting. Enjoy a great read!

Character

This was a good read/listen. I am not. A huge fan period stories but the story was good and the narration was great. The issue mostly is that is not my type of story. Golden angel is a great author, I have read her before and will read her again.

A very enjoyable historical storyline, and a merry chase the young Gabrielle sets for Felix Hood her unbeknownst, but highly susceptible suitor.

I Think I Can Love Historical Novels ❤

Undisciplined: Bridal Discipline Book 2 was exciting. I generally don't read historical novels, but after reading the summary on this novella I thought I'll give it a try.

I was very well written by Golden Angel. I loved the chase. I loved the ruly, rebellious womanly tantrums. The firm hand that was being put down by the strong alpha men. And, even the occasional bare bottom spanking.(Enforcement of discipline) I'm fully charged to get to the next book to see how this story continues.
I just believe it will be a memorable ending, with the HEA I always look for.

Of course, we don't want to forget the narrator Rebecca McKernan. She had done an extraordinary job with all the characters. I definitely recommend this novella to others. It's a strong

Great story and narration

Great writing! So glad to get some insight into Gabrielle because she comes off as spoiled and bratty. I wanted to shake her so many times during this story. Great series and narration.

Undisciplined by Golden Angel

This book was full of emotions and was very interesting. I can't wait to read or hear Gabrielle's story with Felix. Since this was somewhat like a prequel to a full story about Gabrielle's Discipline I can forgive how it made me felt about the ending of the story. It honestly made me want to not stop listening until I finish Gabrielle's story to write a review.

The narration by Rebecca McKernan was also superb.

Short reiteration of book 1

while I enjoyed the storyline from Gabriellas viewpoint it was almost word for word the same information as book 1. I think it would have made the first book that much better. The narrator I found did a much better job keeping me in the story.

Gabriella's perspective

This gives the point of view of Gabriella from Philips rules.
It's shortish. About 3 hours long. The narrative is pretty good. But not quite up to S. Kittens standard from the first series.
I do believe I'll enjoy listening to it many times in the years to come.

Great bridge

Golden Angel does a great job in Undisciplined of recapping Gabrielle's journey through book 1 Phiip's Rules. I would highly recommend this book if you didn't read book 1 or is has been a while I listened to it the same day I did Philip's Rules. For that reason I found it repetitive. It is however well written and engaging. I wasn't bored and listened to the entire book. I am stoked to experience Gabrielle's story however it plays out. Bring it on Golden Angel. Rebecca McKernan was a great narrator for this novel.

Gabrielle's Perspective

This book was pretty much book 1 in the series but written in Gabrielle's point of view. I didn't like Gabrielle in book 1 but after hearing the story from her perspective, this book made her much more likable, and I'm looking forward to listening to Gabrielle and Felix's story in the next book. Rebecca McKernan did a great job narrating this story. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

I would say it's more of Book 1.5

Would you listen to Undisciplined again? Why?

Not sure. I think I would jump straight from book 1 to the official book 2

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It is fun to see how things happened in book 1 through Gabrielle's eyes

Which character – as performed by Rebecca McKernan – was your favorite?

Gabrielle, she is the main character

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Gabrielle giving the dolls to the little girls. She's so awful in the book most of the time, it was nice to see her being sweet

Any additional comments?

Gabrielle was so difficult in Book 1, it is good to see how she views the circumstances before jumping into Book 2

Totally awesome

What did you love best about Undisciplined?

The story of Undisciplined is a really good one and I could tell that Golden Angel put a lot of work into coming up with great characters and a good plot.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite was Gabriella. She may have been spoiled, but she was just so real. I felt so much for her.

What does Rebecca McKernan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator really has a way of bringing the characters to life and was totally awesome.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did cry some because there were some sad parts and Gabriella's feelings are just so intense.
