Summary
The Decay has come and no one is safe....
Detective Levin must find the cause of an outbreak of mass murders in his hometown. Norcastle was the first town to fall. Not long after entire cities fell one by one to The Decay. It seems that everyone who enters Norcastle...goes insane. No one has come out alive....

An ok tale but nothing more
I received this book for an honest review.
I was a bit disappointed as the blurb for this sounded quite good. The story itself is ok, nothing groundbreaking but a nice enough idea but it is let down by two things.
1) Editing - this is an issue for the base story and it needed sorting before it became an audio book. Its a constant stream of "I did this" and "I did that" gets a bit annoying but my most stand out one was something like "laughter came from the end of the corridor, it sounded like a childrens". This would be bad to read but when read out loud it sounds even worse.
2) Narration - It was a promising start, the voice of the narrator fit nicely with the idea of a detective and he tried to do the odd voice. Unfortunately most of the book was read in a bleak monotone, no emphasis was put on anything, sentences were read oddly at times and it was hard to pay attention.
Sort the writing out and re-narrate it and it'd probably be a much more enjoyable experience.

Second Sight
I enjoyed this book.It was well crafted with interesting charactersSome parts left me confused..Levin sems like a nice enough guy.Looking forward to book 2.Rick Barr was a good narraor.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.
