About this listen
"If you're so concerned about my humanity, Elena, then reach into my soul and find it, because I'm not sure I have any left."
According to the FBI, I was considered a serial murderer after three kills.
What do they call me after fifty-two?
They call me the Silencer.
One final bullet would have been all it took to stop me from taking another soul, and I would have been doing Meridian City a service by pulling that trigger.
An angel crying for help stopped me, and that night, I took three lives for her. Then three turned into eight. Then eight turned into twenty. Twenty turned into twenty-one. Twenty-one turned into twenty-three.
Elena Young is the hero in my story, but I’m the villain in hers.
And this is the kind of story where the villain gets the girl, even if it kills her.
This is a dark romance novel intended for mature listeners only. Please check trigger/content warnings. This book does not have an HEA.

This is NOT a happy book…..
If you are after a book that is all sunshine and rainbows this is not the book for you. This covers some truly deep and disturbing topics, including sexual assault, self harm and suicide. This does not have a happy ending. Akin to Romeo & Juliet, there never was a story of more woe that that of Juliet and her Romeo.
Impeccably performed, gut wrenching and truly truly impactful. My heart goes out to the author for what she endured and her perseverance to tell this story.
I can’t say I enjoyed it but I can say that I am changed by it.
Well done to everyone involved it this story.

Exceptional book. Joe Arden is amazing
The story is great, balanced, but oh the ending… and that is what makes a book exceptional!
Joe Arden’s performance is outstanding.

cried like a baby
believe it when they say rhete is no HEA ending with this book I cried and cried poor Christian he was the unluckiest man and also the complex character 😢. Joe Arden as always gives a 150% performance his talent is unmatched 💙. I just wish as a romantic at heart that the writer could have took pity on the main characters at the end and given them the HEA they deserved. x

Overall really good
Very good story line and narrating was 6/5. Thought about this book long time after finished reading. It felt like a piece of my soul was ripped away. Gonna buy the physical book as well.

One of the top listens of the year!
Wow! What a story. Yes, there are trigger warnings, but despite all the darkness, the story is filled with glimpses of light. Elena is being attacked, and a mysterious man comes to her rescue. The Silencer is a serial killer, but Elena is his obsession. No danger will come to her. Now frequently visiting, Elena has gotten over her fear, and just deals with him. Meanwhile, at work, her boss, Christian has not only saved her job, but is interested in her. Against her better judgement, she enters into a relationship with him. Now what will the Silencer do when he finds out he has competition? This certainly gives a very simplistic summary, as Ariel N Anderson packs so much into it. It's murder, secrets, family, loss and tragedy, along with mental illness, orphans, love and obsession. Don't go into this looking for that happy ending, but the love that Elena and Christian had and gave to their daughter all shone rays of hope and love through the darkness. This is an emotionally charged story and amazing listen.
The narration drives the story home. Lee Daniels and Joe Arden in duet create the world to which I found myself. Daniels is Elena, and her emotions are all over the place. Scared, frustrated, passionate, hurt, she is all there with each emotion, going through each phase of her life. Arden's voice is crazy! As the Silencer, he is eerily realistic with his crazy sound and easily transitions to Christian, smooth as silk, These two poured all the feels and made this story feel extremely real. It was the perfect pairing with the story.

One of the better written books
The first half of the book was amazing. All of the twists I saw coming which I was fine with but I felt the last half of the book was too much and the ending a little ridiculous. So much happened I felt it would have been better as two books.
A whole section in the middle was just blanked.
The note from the author at the end made me cry. It was still a 5 star audiobook.
The narration I found over dramatic and the audio itself very messy in parts. With background noise the silence then background noise. Long pauses mid paragraph too.

I've listened to a lot of books, all with good stories, but this has got to be one the best stories I've heard, Joe as usual is absolutely awesome, his ability to completely immerse the listener into the story is incredible, the storyline is amazing the length of the book is perfect, it's keeps you gripped until the very end, bravo
