Summary

What happened to the ancient Egyptians? When their civilization fell, did the Egyptian people disappear? Or do their descendants exist to this day? What about the ancient Persians? Romans? Mayans?

For years, the answers to these questions have been hidden. But no more. Nathaniel T. Jeanson, a Harvard graduate with a PhD in cell and developmental biology, has discovered a DNA-based, generation by generation family tree for global humanity. This tree uncovers the origin and fate of these ancient peoples—and connects them to peoples alive today.

The fascinating research presented in Traced has additional far-reaching consequences for numerous contemporary debates:

  • Race: Traced shows that the races have changed multiple times in human history. Thus, “White”, “Black”, “Asian” and other common descriptors lose their meaning in light of modern genetics.
  • Prehistory: Traced reveals that today’s Native Americans were not the first but replaced earlier inhabitants whose genealogical origins remain unknown.
  • History and origin of minority groups: The genetics in Traced restores the indigenous histories to many obscure people groups and connects them back to specific ancestors in Genesis 10.
  • The age of the Earth: Traced represents one of the strongest arguments in print for the recent origin of humanity.
  • Biblical authority: Historically, young-Earth creationists have sought to defend biblical authority from scientific attacks; Traced puts biblical authority on offense.

Dive into the wild and emerging field of historical genetics and see how these recent discoveries on the fate of ancient civilizations end up uncovering the story of the whole world. Traced: Human DNA’s Big Surprise will inspire, not only budding historians, archaeologists, geneticists, linguists, and anthropologists, but anyone interested the marvelous and messy story of humankind.

Horrendous treble and “S’ing”

Five minutes in and I knew there was absolutely no way I could possibly listen to 7 1/2 hours more of this narrator’s recording. While his delivery is okay, albeit rather robotic, his mouth tends to emphasise the S sound. Furthermore, the EQ’ing on this is really bad. If I continued to listen my ears would be destroyed. How do I get my credit back?

Mind boggling insights

The data laid out in this book is groundbreaking in that it will turn on its head the current understanding of human history.

It is not a very easy topic but with the charts and patience it certainly is well worth it!

Rubbish

I taught he was a scientist but the minute I hear 6000 years I knew he was a fraud, this does nothing to advance mankind only sets us back. It’s completely made up rubbish

Bending Science to Support Biblical View

This is not a science book. It should be listed only in the religion section.

DNA doesn’t lie!

There is so much speculation about human history and our origins. It’s refreshing to hear a scientist go through the details based on DNA and hard science. And to make it accessible for everyone who is interested.

Great insights

This helped illuminate an important piece of the human equation, and I look forward to hearing more of this science and from this scientist.

This is not a real scientific book

Several falsehoods by chapter 3. It had a few quirky discussions of mathematical oddities and their solution that are fun to listen too but beyond that, this book is likely just pseudo scientific bunk packaged up with some summaries of certain recent gene studies. Reed the gene studies and skip this book

Traced

This book is not suitable for audio as the narrator continuously refers to the visuals in the book.

Paradigm shifting research

People don’t know it yet but ancient historical records have been demonstrated to be true. That is exciting to see happening.
Dr. Jeanson has made his mark upon history with this outstanding research. Definitely the key to piecing together lost history and the migrations of the nations across the earth from ancient past. I’m looking forward to more!

Great read

Dr. Jeanson continues to bring the totality of evidence, rather than cleverly devised myths, forward to show that we are one human family.

Amazing Discovery

If the scientific and educational culture were not so biased against the prospect of the creation model being true, the author would probably have been a Nobel Prize winner for what he has uncovered in genetics and other research outlined in this book. Truly incredible!
