Summary
What would you change about your past if you had the chance? What if you didn't have a choice?
Stevie Geller doesn't do conflict. She likes her job as a successful novelist and playwright because it allows her to peacefully ensconce herself in her New York City loft, avoid human interactions, and leave personal drama for the page and stage. When her agent asks her to return to her hometown of Darlington, Illinois, to accept an award, she agrees only because he promises the process will be quick and easy. One panic attack and concussion later, Stevie is forced to confront her past in ways that seem to defy reality. As if befriending a social outcast and confronting high school bullies weren't enough, she also finds herself falling for a closeted teacher. Along the way, Stevie must decide if some things are worth fighting for. In her rush to escape the past, will she leave behind a better future, or are some conflicts really timeless?

The perfect ending
This is my first book by Rachel Spangler and I really loved it. It's not only a sweet romance but also a moral book with lessons in how to treat people right. The main character Stevie doesn't do conflict but after she went knock out she ends up back in high school and is confronted with bullying and discrimination. Although topics such as bullying and discrimination sound heavy, the book is a real pageturner. At first I was surprised and amused by the fact that Stevie ended up back in high school as a teenager, but after a while I got sucked up in the story. The end was a perfect ending for me, really romantic and it gave me butterflies. I can't wait to read more books by Rachel Spangler.

Disturbing
The book is well written as one expects from Rachel Spangler. The story line familiar but different in that Nic was not the adulterous spouse usually portrayed.
However I found it disturbed me enough for me to stop reading it for short periods maybe because she was different and because I recognised in her characteristics of people I frequently worked with.. Both her background and present behaviour signalled someone who needed help. She was typical of someone constantly having to prove herself, driven and very insecure underneath the confident successful women she presented to everyone.
She had cheated and lied to her wife and mistress
wilfully in full awareness of what she was doing and with the intention of not being found out. She was not a bad person, the story gave the impression she was sincerely in love with her wife .
The image I had of her didn't sit easily in the way she was treated. I spent much of the time feeling sorry for her at the same time telling myself it was a romance and the people were not real except they felt as if they were.
I would love there to be a book someday that follows her struggles within herself and how she funds love and happiness.

Rewrite your life
Wow. One of the best books I've read, and I've read a lot in the lesbian romance genre. I love the message Rachel Spangler sends loud and clear: don't settle for mediocre - you have the power to write your own ending. As the song says, "the rest is still unwritten." Oh, and the narration was fantastic as well. Get this one.

Love Rachel Spangler's books. I can definitely relate to the small town attitudes to something/someone different. And the schools are full of bullying. It was a great story. Definitely recommend!!!

Abysmal narration, boring
I couldn’t get through it. The material may have been decent, but the breathy babydoll voice of every feminine character set my teeth on edge. I have no idea why the narrator did that. The other voices were done fine, but the romantic interest sounds like an airheaded cupie doll. Money back please.

Brilliant and Wonderful
So Smart and brilliant from start to finish. Yes I would recommend this book to anyone, it has such deep characters, this one part romance, one part back to future story gives us such a fulfilling journey. Dealing with so many topics along the way, this story can’t help but make you cheer and be full of hope by the end.

a sweet trip through time with a happy ending
I had mixed feelings about this book. it held my interest but the voice the narrator used for Jodi was so high pitched and annoying it was hard for me to like the character. overall the book was pretty good. if you are looking for something steamy, this isn't it. it was sort of a sweet story though.
