Summary
Braedyn is a normal girl just trying to survive high school with her two devoted friends, Royal and Cassie. Together they're doing a pretty good job of shrugging off the slings and arrows cast their way by the popular crowd when a new boy, Lucas, moves into the house next door. Suddenly Braedyn finds herself falling in love for the first time.
But as her 16th birthday approaches, Braedyn discovers humankind is at war with the Lilitu, an ancient race of enticing demons that prey on human souls. Her father is a member of the Guard fighting against the Lilitu - and so are the new neighbors, including her crush, Lucas.
As her world starts to unravel at the seams, Braedyn learns the right answers aren't always clear or easy. And as for "good" and "evil" - it all depends on how we choose to act.
Inspired by the ancient Mesopotamian myths of Lilith and her offspring, Thrall explores first love, strong friendships, and taking on adult responsibilities against the backdrop of powerful supernatural forces and life-and-death stakes.

Excellent!
Thrall is an amazing book. Starts out with a pretty normal teenage girl about to turn 16: small group of friends, dealing with the bully cheerleaders at school along with the jocks, and suddenly running into a hot guy who makes her flush. This quickly changes. Braden is introduced to the world of Lilitu, or sirens, and her entire life is flipped on its head. Being told that she can’t be with the guy she wants, and not being able to tell him why, is an awful thing for a girl with her first crush. Having her body change uncontrollably and in an unwanted, but sudden, way is just one more thing that she has to deal with.
I love how the author doesn’t fall into the trap of the whiny teenagers. Teenagers today are a lot more grown up than they used to be, and listening to/reading books with super whiny teenagers just drive me crazy. Thankfully, Jennifer Quintenz did not have this problem. The teenagers in the book are pretty much just like the teenagers I run into at the store. It was very true to reality, and I liked that. I definitely give this book 5 STARS!!
**The only problem I had was in one chapter, the audio overlapped itself a few times. It was very distracting.

Outstanding
I ended up having to return this book because it was skipping. I was able to listen to half of it and then was so in love that I bought it at the book store. The story line keeps you on your toes. I wish I had been able to finish the book audio, it helps me to imagine better but even paper was incredible. I found myself holding my breath in parts, other parts I could not put the book down to sleep. This was a real page turner, hopefully they will work out the bug. I am going to get the next one and hope that it does not have the same issue!

So so
The reader was not a good match. It needed a younger voice. This reader had a pleasant tone and quality just not a good match for this book. This impacted my interest overall I fear
The story was so so. It didn't engage me terribly. I finished the book but have no plans to continue. The story didn't flow well. It just wasn't terribly interesting.
