Summary

How can Sarom prevent the destruction of his world, when no one believes him? As a child, he gains the gift of seeing the future after chancing upon a UFO in the sky, a ship of the ancient star Guardians. As a prophet among his people, he predicts what is to come. But no one takes him seriously. What good is it to be able to see the problems that will happen in the future, if no one is willing to take action, until it is too late?

With the support of the Guardians, he grows to be recognized as a true prophet, despite being a novice monk. Although they have successfully evacuated his planet to the space colony, they must now face self-destruction, brought about by an internal war among its inhabitants. And this time, the guardians will not help them. Why? Are they destined to die?

The Third Evacuation is a science fiction novel, filled with prophecies, fantastic characters, walking plants, giants hiding in nature, interstellar travelers, and many more - showing us a parallel to Earth’s current situation. Will we be able to avoid our planet’s destruction, too? Time is running out. We need to do something.

Compelling story, familiar messege

Medieval aliens, intrigues, espionage, power struggles and a zinger twist. an excelent 7 hour listen.
The first part focuses on the protagonist Sarom and building the alien medieval-like world in a binary star system somewhere out there. We soon learn that Sarom is special and further find out why troughout the book.
We're introduced to a pre-technological society wich is all too familiar along with casts, monarchies, ancient relligions, sacred secret texts and strange walking plants. Altough not without it's problems, this alien society seems to live in harmony - that is until an unavoidable natural cosmic disaster threatens their peaceful life altough only few know about it. I don't want to spoil more of the narative but we are treated to a story about self determination, the laws of cause and effect, the prime directive, the meaning of life and universal laws that permeate the universe. I couldn't help but express a sensible chuckle after connecting the dots in the final chapter but it's better that the reader goes trough that himself. Readers familiar with the writings of a certain one-armed swiss man will enjoy this book even more.
Overall a good read, less so memorable characters but more than makes up for it with the story and the messege.
