Excellent coverage of the ill-fated Gallipoli initiative
Vol 2 covers the detail of the 1915 initiative to cease the initiative at Gallipoli, as seen from Churchill’s perspective and self-justification of course. Even more than 100 years later it is a moment of “what might have been” that would have fundamentally changed the world in the decades that followed. A poorly understood failure and so overshadowed by the Western Front and Western European
perspective of WW1.

Essential
Second part of the essential works of Churchill. Wonderfully read also. The story continues and the great powers come to a deadlock. Churchill comes across as a man who wants to think outside the box and perhaps is ahead of his time. Onto the last part..

Great read.
Following on from book 1 this has great continuity.
Well written well read on a deep and difficult subject.
Really have enjoyed it.
Learnt much more than I thought I would. Churchill has a great way about him and how he looked at the world.

Excellent history
20 years ago WSC was voted Britains " Greatest Briton". In an interview, Gary Oldman, who played WSC in " Darkest Hour", stated his complete respect for the man having fully researched the man up to 1940. Of course, we now know the outcome, but May, 1940 was a pivotal moment in the war when Hitler stood on the brink of victory.

An absolute unique performance; in an unusual approach to producing an audiobook, this recording have the history and the book, by Winston Churchill, rendered in a true, real-life voice approach by performer Christian Rodska. What could easily have turned into a farce, the marvelous performance by reader Rodska, not only saves the book, but brings the life and times of Winston Churchill so instantly into his own entire story of WW1. The book is a masterpiece of valuable first-hand insight by Churchill. The reading is a unique reenactment of Churchill himself in the given time-period of the history.

How Winston Could Have Won the War
Mostly about Gallipoli, Winston explains time a d time again how if only everyone had listened to him, it would have ended in success. At its most ridiculous as he explains how with a few territorial concessions, he could have united the Balkans and near instantly collapsed the Austria and Ottoman Empires.
All beautifully written and narrated, well worth a listen. But, believe near none of this inter war self justification.
