Thought-provoking. A great reading as well.

Relevant, well written and imaginative. One of those books that will engage 'old' and young readers alike.

Great story, well narrated.

Really enjoyed listening to this story. It drew me in and that is thanks to the combination of the unfolding adventure and the narration. Full series now purchased.

Enjoyable

I know this is classed as a YA book, but my 67 year old husband and 61 year old self really enjoyed listening to it on holiday. I think the main reason is because Samuel West is such a terrific narrator, and gives each character their own distinct voice. The story is well written and would , I think, appeal to all
ages. It is easy listening, I have bought the sequels and hope they are as good.

Magical and mysterious, good for slightly older kids

My 9 year old liked the sense of mystery and my 7 year old liked the way the tsars were defeated

Reads like the wind

I doubt I’m the author’s target audience but this was a fun story, very well and briskly told. Have instantly downloaded the next book in the series.

Such a well written narrative. Brilliantly appropriate for both youngns & older folk alike. The journey, the encounters, the land, the people all male for an inspiring tale.
