Summary
It was like the curse of Cain.
The curse struck without warning, turning Luna’s entire face white, causing her to become hated in society.
Abused and despised for being different, Luna knew she would never find peace or happiness again. But, that all changed the day she found an ancient grimoire book inside of a tree that promised to cure her.
Determined to free herself from the life of an outcast, Luna leaves her town in search of someone, or something, to help her decipher the strange potions.
But when impatient Luna decides to cast the spell herself, things go terribly wrong.
Now, she’ll have to find a cure for her “cure”, and so, the real journey begins.

Unpredictable, well written and performed
I really liked how unpredictable this book was, it kept going off in tangents that really worked but also weren’t what I was expecting. Some of the descriptions, added with the performance of the narrator were so immersive you could almost imagine you were there. The relationships were very well constructed and the obstacles they have to cross and everything made me find myself wanting to speed up the narration just so I could find out what happened to them. Very well written

The Wiccan's Curse
This is a good story and it has a lot of potential, it is worth listening to but your own visualisation of the story unfolding is something I would recommend.

Good storyline
The story is very good but I'm afraid it is spoilt by the voice of the reader. Not sure I would listen to any more.

this is okay for a kids book
the fact that the term Wiccan was used so loosely and to define a species and not what wicca really is was honestly insulting because I am a wiccan. I expected more

Fast at the end
I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review. The story is fairly easy to listen to until the end. A girl abused by her mother finds a grimoire on the very day her friend convinces her to run away. They look for the ingredients for a spell as they go. I am slightly confused how fast the ending is with the mother. The story is easygoing and the narrator good, except the way asked is pronounced axed, which I personally found annoying.

Very entertaining
"The Wiccan’s Curse" (2021) by Gemma Jace is a very entertaining young adult novella about fifteen-year-old Luna, an abused girl cursed with a white-circled face on brown skin. With longtime friend River and new friend Rusty, Luna sets out on a trek to make her look normal through magic. The tale appears to take place before automobiles and airplanes but the characters sound like modern-day teens. Narrator A'alia Zealous is engaging but needs to work on words with double T’s in the middle (written, button, etc.). Solidly recommended. At my request, I was given this free audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

I loved this book
The vivid description of the scenery made my feel I was right there . The characters were unique. I was glad to be allowed to go on this journey with Luna.
