About this listen

When a driven businesswoman from Boston collides with a free-spirited artist on a Vermont mountainside, they share a memorable—and steamy—night, but life soon pits them against each other over the fate of a family business.

Emily Janssen prefers to play it safe. At thirty-five, she’s still working at the inn her grandmothers own while dreaming of a day when she’s able to support herself fully with her art. And while her friends have all hiked to the summit of the mountain in their hometown of Crescent Falls, Vermont, something has always held Emily back.

Diana Devlin has already made it to the top. Well, almost. She’s this close to securing the promotion that will put her in line to take over as CEO of her family’s hotel chain when her father retires. Everything is going to plan until an unexpected run-in with an alluring artist on a mountainside throws Diana off course, resulting in one of the hottest nights either she or Emily have ever experienced.

Emily walks away from their rendezvous feeling inspired to channel some of Diana’s confidence and finally chase her dreams. For Diana, it’s a reminder that with the right woman, she is capable of wanting more than one night.

But their growing passion threatens to burn them both when they learn that the hotel Diana’s in town to buy is none other than Emily’s grandmothers’ beloved inn. It’s Emily’s home, and no big city outsider—not even Diana—is going to take it away from her.

Will the view from the top be worth the climb, or will they both have farther to fall?

EXCELLENT ROMANCE. 💋

This is a delightful beautiful romance that blossoms through coming in 2nd, but in reality they both have won. ✨
Having the courage to conquer fear and branch out in life and love is not easy, but together they are stronger. 💖
Quinn Riley is amazing in her narration and this is an excellent performance. A pure joy to listen to.🎶

Gorgeous story, gorgeous narration

Loved every bit of this book. From the moment it started I was rooting for these two lovable ladies and their entwined lives. Absolutely off the charts intimate scenes, so beautifully done. All of it sumptuously brought together by QR. Just the escapism that is needed right now... I appreciate this work so very much RL, thank you xx

Diana & Emily’s Journey

Diana & Emily meet on a hiking trail and are immediately drawn to each other culminating in a one night stand where both open themselves up emotionally to each other. Diana as a hotel buyer is not afraid to go after whatever she wants even if it involves travel whereas Emily is a homebody and has never left the town she grew up in. Emily is happiest plodding along in her comfort zone being an artist at one with nature but not pursuing her dreams.
Due to circumstances they end up working together and trying to navigate professional boundaries however both are still very attracted to each other and have fond memories of the night they spent together.
I loved the way the author touched on subject matters such as homophobia, anxiety, abandonment, loneliness and the importance of friendships. This made the characters more realistic as they each dealt with their own issues while trying to form a relationship.
Due to the imagery and description of Crescent Falls I felt that I was there among them. I also enjoyed all the side characters which really contributed to the story. Overall this was a great book, well narrated by Quinn Riley and very enjoyable.
