If everyone is looking to secure a relationship with their perceived best option, then the perception of value must be at the heart of human coupling. In this groundbreaking work, psychologist Orion Taraban sets forth his economic model of relationships and exposes the often uncomfortable laws that govern the sexual marketplace. After listening to "The Value of Others," you'll never look at relationships the same way again.

A masterpiece

Well argued and extremely well described topic. This audiobook will not leave you indifferent. Polemic but compelling and logic.

Impactful Insights with a Surprising Twist

Terrific book; for both men and women! The points were incredibly well-articulated, and those last two chapters—wow, it was like getting hit with a frying pan of insight! 😅💡

Eye opening and life changing.

This books offers an invaluable analysis of modern relationships. In doing so it provides an incredibly useful framework to understand such behaviour in society at large and in our own individual lives. Truly eye opening and life changing.

"All things being equal"-predictable but inspiring

For the better part of the book it is true that even religious listening to all of Orion's ten-minute YT snacks is nowhere near a wholesome full meal of the audiobook, read by the author himself, which is good in this case. In all other cases, the one and only late Frank Muller- or hopefully alive and well Peter Coyote- are the only options I accept.

Not only I have a trouble pinning down what I do not like in Orion's general view of the relations. I have a trouble speaking of it without getting into trouble of being labelled as "unable to face a reality". Such a mild blackmail seeps from time to time from in- between words of the book. Still I believe the world of relationships is much more nuanced than the author prefers to see.

At the same time the book addresses many important issues connected not only with interpersonal relations, but even more- with the one's relation with oneself. And when writing on what love is and what it is not- Taraban just nailed it.

I would like more on maintaing the frame, inner game and how to build good frienships, including male and female ones.

Last and the least: if the author chooses to find a good editor, the reader may not be overfed with the surplus of the line quoted in the title of this review:)

Indeed Useful for Women

I am familiar with Orion's content on YouTube and loved this book too. Also loved that he read the book himself using his skill on theatre.

Red pill echo chamber

If you can't get enough of red pill content, and look for market fundamentalist answers to questions of relationships, this one is for you. If not, I recommend that you look up Gatekeeper by Shawn Smith instead.
