Summary

Eve Sumptor is back. This time she is facing her toughest opponent yet. Herself.

After a passionate affair, Eve Sumptor and Lainey Stanton had difficult choices to make. One chose fear, the other gave in to guilt. As the consequences of those decisions begin to come to light, both women must find a new direction.

Will their paths once again come together?

Or have they missed their chance?

You met Eve and Lainey in Something About Eve. You watched them suffer in Flawed Perfection. You've followed Eve's therapy sessions online. Now, see where every decision leads the two women. Were they meant to be together? Or will life keep tearing them apart?

Intended for 18+ audience due to mature content. This audiobook contains scenes that may be a trigger to some people.

Show, showing is good

the brilliance of jourdyn Kelly is making you feel a hundred emotions in a sentence, most surprising following the first book, is laughter, 4am I burst after not wanting to put book down.

for all the times you wonder, " what happened next ", after finishing a book, book 1 is so complex; murder, mystery, crime, psychological, and book 2 is the finishing round-up of evils that got away. but book 3, forget about the wealth, is full of what we all go through in life, the complexity of being us.
love the narration again, love everything, just wish I'd found my Lainey, but wouldn't change being "grandma"

Highly emotive and highly addictive!

Absolutely loved this book on audible. It is amazing how much more you feel by listening instead of reading. At times you are so drawn into the book you it's hard not to feel the feelings and emotions that the story provokes. It's well written and narrated very well.

A good listen.

Having read all the books in the series, having it read out brought it out more. I can't find the first book or the last to add to my collection which i would like. The book is well written and is narrated very well. Hopefully I'll find the others.

Beautiful Conclusion!

"Art is never a guarantee. Make sure that the people in your life are."

"Decisions are a strange thing. What you think is the right decision at the moment could turn out to be the worst decision you've ever made."

"No one should strive to be someone else. Only the best version of themselves. Even in their flaws, there is perfection."

This is the third book in the Eve Sumptor series. It could be read as a standalone, but it is much better to read the previous two books, "Something About Eve" and "Flawed Perfection" to get the depth of the relationship between Eve and Lainey. The therapy sessions with Dr. Woodrow really show us into Eve's inner turmoil.

Jourdyn Kelly does a wonderful job showing a myriad of emotions both individually as well as within the relationships. In the first two books, Eve battled some incredible demons. In this book, she is battling her toughest opponent: herself.

You will laugh, get angry, probably cry, and cheer!

The success of a book is when the author makes you feel. Jourdyn does an excellent job of making the characters believable. I loved the boys' development in this book! Bella was adorable!

Tessa Stavers does a great job capturing the emotions of the characters.

Absolutely Loved It

I have a love hate relationship with this book… I absolutely loved it and I hate that it is the last in the Eve Sumptor Series. The way Lainey comes into her own in this book is HOT! I will miss Eve and Lainey but I look forward to reading more of Jourdyn's books. This is a must read! I enjoyed it so much that I purchased it on Audible. Tessa Stavers narration is absolutely wonderful as usual.

Spoiler alert

I was so angry at the end of book one. The end was completely wrong for the obvious feeling and connections that were ignored.

I had already purchased books two and three and I read the reviews on them skeptically. I almost did as one reviewer suggested and skipped book two altogether. I decided to go into with my finger on the skip 30 seconds ahead button. I think it took me less than an hour to get to the end of it. I’m glad I didn’t totally skip it but I definitely had no desire to listen to the relentless and unnecessary fuckfest.

I only kept going because of the reviews on book three. Grappling with the trauma of her life was truly the only really insightfully written part of these books.

Honestly it should have been a single book with less unnecessary sex. I like sex and don’t mind listening to heterosexual sex if it’s beneficial to the story. For me love is love and the spicy scenes are important even when it’s not something I want to experience myself.

I gave a decent almost 5 star review on this book… but needed to also share my feeling about the others. I did not leave a bad review on the others I just chose not to review them at all.

Tingles

This book had me on the edge with tension and left me with goose bumps and tangles in the end. Great character development and evolution of their story. The writing enables a total immersion into the story. Im so happy there will be a fourth in this series!

This book

... Is amazing! my only wish is that all of Jourdyn Kelly's novels become audiobooks. Even though this is the third in the series, it also works as a stand alone novel. The other two in the serie were heavier on the action, but this book did not pull any punches.

Very well written

I fell in love with everything about this book. The writing style, the characters, the storyline, and the narration were all excellent. There are two other books in the series not on audio, they are must reads.

WOW!!!!

Wow! What a journey! I absolutely loved this novel and the following novel. I just wish the first book was available in audio as well. I could not turn it off! Jourdyn Kelly, you are an amazing writer, this series is more than I could have possibly wished for. The depth of characters and the narrator Tessa Stavers made for some of the best audio books I have experienced. I can only imagine the workings of the mind of Jourdyn Kelly to have been able to put pen to paper in this amazing series!

FINALLY!!!!!

In the words of Etta James...At Last. I've been waiting on this installment and enjoyed it. This was an emotional book and as such, expect to run the gambit. Well done, Jourdyn. The narration was wonderful!
