Summary
When in trouble, seek a Highlander...
Even if you pushed him into a river 10 years ago...
When Evie McKnight slams into Jamie Mackenzie on a quay on Southampton, she flashes back to the day she accidentally knocked him into the river Cam. When she fished him out again, he shocked her with a searing, bold kiss before walking away in a dripping wet shirt and kilt.
Evie has no business reveling in memories of Jamie then and the nearness of him now - she is betrothed to a respectable man from a respectable and wealthy family. But Jamie appears everywhere in London, assisting Evie and her sisters, becoming friends with her fiancé, and agreeing to be drawn into the heist Evie has planned in order to save her best friend’s father from ruin.
The son and heir of Ian Mackenzie, Jamie has roamed the world encountering adventure after adventure, and now he’s back home to settle down as he promised his family. But Jamie is restless, searching for something he can’t seem to find, trying to live up to his potential as the son of a genius.
When he sees Evie again, he knows what he’s been striving for, and he is not going to let the trivial matter of her betrothal to a dull stick and the fact that she wants to break into the British Museum put him off. Jamie is Ian Mackenzie’s son, all right - he’ll use all the Mackenzie determination and adroitness to prove that she is for him, and he for her.

Rather Dull! 3.5*
I have been an avid fan of this series and it was a delight to meet everyone again.
The author writes delicious heroes andJamie is no exception. I do love how all the Mackenzie men fall head over heals in love when they make up their mind.
I did find this book, however, rather dull and I didn't buy the reason for Evie getting engaged and not wanting to fall in love again. For this reason, I didn't really warm to her.
I also didn't see any reason for their se*y scenes as they just seemed to be there for the sake of it and didn't add to the story.
I look forward to reading all the cousins' stories and it will be interesting to see who manages to tame Gavina!
The narrator did an excellent job! 👏

Worth the wait.
Oh thank goodness! The next book in the series. This is one of the best series there is, as it involves the others in the family from previous books not just the name. Often when you read a series the characters from the previous book or books are never apart of it, which always disappoints me. This series is all about family. Some have mysteries, some are just about their love. It's a wonderful on going drama, that should be made into a TV series. There has been nothing like it and in my opinion nothing needs to be changed. It has everything. so if you haven't read or listen to the series, I strongly suggest you start with the first. Starting here would not let you get to know the family, love them and how they work. Thank you Jennifer and of course Angela for here wonderful narration. Enjoy

MacKenzie clan stories have run their course
As big a fan as I am of the first 4 books in this series, the ones that follow have been disappointing and this one continues that trend. Overall, tedious.
