Summary

Rick Waters is trapped. He and another survivor are stuck in the middle of a devastated Las Vegas, forced to hide while a band of criminals wielding stolen military-grade hardware loot the city. Any hope of escape rests on Rick's quick thinking, though that may not be enough. Back home in Virginia, his wife and children are preparing their homestead for an early winter that has arrived. The heavy snowfall is accompanied by the revelation of a strange secret beneath their home that may make their lives easier or even more dangerous.

Surviving the Fall is a thrilling post-apocalyptic episodic series that focuses on Rick and Dianne Waters and how they each deal with the apocalypse. Stranded across the country away from his family, Rick must travel from California to Virginia to reunite with his wife and children, all while struggling to comprehend and deal with the horrors along the way.

At home with her three children when she experiences the beginning of the end in a dramatic and deadly fashion, Dianne Waters has experience as a prepper and survivalist, but not even years of training and preparation have readied her for the darkness that comes with the end of the world. Now she must draw upon those skills to protect her loved ones and fight back against those who come against her and her family.

Surviving the Fall will feature 14 episodic books (each 25k-30k words in length) that are full of action, suspense, and drama as Rick and Dianne struggle to survive the end of days. Episodes will be published every two to three weeks.

Great series - recommended

I love this series and am ploughing through the books and just cant put them down. Love the main character and cant blink with the swings and roundabouts. The only thing I dont like is that the books are so short akd for me who has had to purchase the audio version on top at 3 quid per book because I'm visually impaired, is not worth thr money considering thr books are over in 2 hours. wish I'd known that before hand as I wouldn't have bought them and even looked at these. mind you id have missed out on a good story. Also dont like the author notes at the end which are read out in an awful way all over excited and too fast because they suddenly kick you out of the world you were in, and disappointment hits as you realise he is now reminded you with a sledge hammer that it wasnt real after spending 2 hours pulling you in. I dont like it and find it annoying. I want the mystery akd the escapism but its ruined by those notes. however, yes I would recommend but would advise anyone to read it rather than listen to it as it's not worth thr cost to download the audio for 3 quid per book as its over before you've finished your cuppa tea!

The adventure continues

I bought this Audible knowing each “book” is an episode in a serial. This episode mainly features Rick and his adventures as he is trying to get home to his family. I enjoy listening to the things that keep popping up in a society that is beginning to unravel, as well as learning the tricks and decisions Rick makes to keep himself safe. I think the major disaster related to the internet is a unique perspective and I’m looking forward to seeing where Mike Kraus takes this idea.

Chris Abernathy is a great narrator and it’s very enjoyable to listen to his voice. He uses a variety of techniques to hold the listeners attention. Excellent performance!

too good, too short

wish the author would make it at least 4 hours per book. these are great books and a great story but ends too soon. I am an audiobook fan and love to hear for hours.

Good story, but pretty pricey if you read all of them

Rick sounds like an old man with the current narration, Jill’s constant use of the word “kiddos” is annoying. Story is good enough to keep me listening, but way overpriced. With some editing and better narration it would be much more enjoyable.
