Fascinating and well structured explanation of the land cycle
Easy to follow and intuitive, this guide to the hidden value in the land cycle is only slightly let down by the overly-actorly reading voice. Someone who understands market economics would've been a better choice of voice artist as the overly dramatic emphasis of the reader started to grate before long.

Excellent book
I finished this book in 2 days, couldn't put it down. Really insightful deep dive into the 18 year property cycle and the law of economic rent.
the author gives a guide on what to do and how to position through each phase of the cycle.
it all sounds very familiar. I'm looking back to the property boom of the early 2000s, 07-08 GFC and what's happened since.
I think I'll also be buying a hard copy of the book so I can go back and refer to sections easily.
Well done Akhil Patel on an excellent financial book which is informative and accessible to a lay person like me.

Truly Fantastic Book
I have been aware of the 18 year property cycle for almost two decades through Fred Harrison’s excellent books. As such, I stumbled across this new book by accident and felt it would add little to what I already knew. I was completely wrong. The book represents an evolution of those previous works and brings the discussion of the cycle to the present day. I was expecting a book about when to buy and sell property to maximise returns, and whilst it does that, it offers so much more. Through the cycle, it is able to explain much of the social inequality and political upheaval that is found in most of the world today. An exceptional piece of literature that is now officially my favourite book.
