Summary

Certainly the two should never have met. The handsome, wealthy Marquess of Rockingham was the most notorious man in London, as infamous for his violent temper as he was for his intemperate ways.

Miss Lucinda Westerville was a country vicar's daughter, as innocent as she was lovely and as proper as a young lady could possibly be.

A good Regency book

True this is not great literature but it's a distraction. Furthermore most MC Beaton writing under Marion Chesney actu ally have for me a therapeutic effect. I suffer from depression and insomnia and they are soothing readings, particularly in the sleepless night.

enjoyable. funny. loved the Duke.

the dukes attitude I found amusing
the story lighthearted apart from the murder. thoroughly enjoyable.
