Critic reviews
"Johnson's language is beautiful, her descriptions of setting visceral, and her characters compellingly drawn." - Publishers Weekly (starred review)
"Johnson would fit quite comfortably on a shelf with Karen Russell, Erin Morgenstern and others who hover in the simultaneous state of being both "literary" and "fantasy writers." - Shelf Awareness

female charecters :)
i liked the addition of the female characters, the voice over had a lot to live up to and i think it is impossible to live up to the amazing job of 'the wind in the willows'

The river Bank Kij Johnson
A very good audiobook I was a bit unsure about the wind in the Willow's with a female mole and rabbit but it was completely right and followed on from the original perfectly. Absolutely perfect, bought a hard copy of the book also.

Amazing
I was sceptical at first but the story really grew on me and ended up enjoying the magic of this sequel.

avoid
I'm a huge fan of the wind in the willows but the narration is monotone and dull. the story could be actually quite good, but I cannot get past the monotone boring voice of the reader, there was no emotion, it was just like someone reading lines from their homework
