Epic adventure!

I do love me a classic epic fantasy story with plenty of world building and plot. And this is just that! Elliot comes in and saves the day, while being a bit of a butt about it, but I hope he deflates a bit and we get to love a bit more on him as the series progresses. Great start to the series, and can't wait to see where it goes from here.

A great listen

I enjoyed listening to this book and the narrator is good with distinct voices for people. It's a debut novel, the first of 4, and I'm eager to see how the whole story pans out. Great world building, with lots of different species. If I have any criticism, it's that I felt it to be a little 'wordy', like the reader was being spoon-fed the information rather than working it out for themselves. That said, it's a fantastic tale, with some likeable (and some not likeable) characters. I am very eager to read more and see how Gregory brings the threads of the tale together.
I will reread/listen in the future as I always miss bits on the first go through. I await the sequels with great anticipation.
