Summary

A collection of the finest work of one of America's best-loved poets. Despite Dickinson's prolific writing, fewer than a dozen of her poems were published during her lifetime. Critics now consider Dickinson to be a major American poet. Read by Julie Harris.

Breathtaking!

Amazing reading of E D's poetry! Julie Harris has such a fantastic voice! She brings the poetry to life. I was so moved by this performance, one of the very best.

recording difficulties

The narration is very clear and well spoken but the recordings of each poem run into each other without a break so you do not know when one poem has ended and another has begun. Many of these poems are on very different topics and need to be listened to individually with a break of a couple of second in-between or the possibility of pausing the recording. This is often not possible as there is sometimes just a microsecond between poems. This detracts very much from my enjoyment of this purchase.
