About this listen

If the Night Stalker is watching, you're already dead.

In the dead of a swelteringly hot summer's night, Detective Erika Foster is called to a murder scene. The victim, a doctor, is found suffocated in bed. His wrists are bound and his eyes bulging through a clear plastic bag tied tight over his head.

A few days later, another victim is found dead in exactly the same circumstances. As Erika and her team start digging deeper, they discover a calculated serial killer - stalking their victims before choosing the right moment to strike.

The victims are all single men, with very private lives. Why are their pasts shrouded in secrecy? And what links them to the killer?

As a heat wave descends upon London, Erika will do everything to stop the Night Stalker before the body count rises, even if it means risking her job. But the victims might not be the only ones being watched: Erika's own life could be on the line.

Solid read, obvious storyline but beautifully detailed. Complex characters which was relayed well by the narrator.

Direct and descriptive

I loved this story and the plot was great, however the narrator is starting to grate on me. As in the last book, every time the main character, Erika, opens her mouth, it sounds as if she's about to yell, lose her temper, start a massive argument or generally have a right go at whoever it is shes speaking to. the same with Supt Marsh. I'm not saying she should sound like a pathetic little girl or anything but you can be an assertive professional woman without sounding like you want to rip someone's throat out every time you speak. I think that Erika would be much more relatable if this was amended. Also, as in the last book, the references to her sounding Slovak were a bit off to me. she sounds about as slovak as I do and I've spent a whole five days there. I know she's been in manchester a while but, really!

Great book but the narrator needs a bit of work

Excellent story - gripping to the end.
I find the narrator frustrating- sometimes she sounds so drawn out and slow it’s almost mournful, this was especially the case in the opening chapters.
Her accents are ok and she brings the relationship with Moss and Erika to life.

Took a while to centre on the characters as, unfortunately, another novelist also has an Erica F who has lost her husband!

Bryndza writes with passion and flair.

Thrilling
