Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I adore Clive Cussler's books. As expected this is a fast paced story with a satisfying a feel of adventure and an automatic "like" for the heroes.

If you’ve listened to books by Clive Cussler and Paul Kemprecos before, how does this one compare?

This is a great story and listening to it felt like watching Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones movies. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that I felt that some of Cussler's other books are a touch better. Still overall it's a fantastic and enjoyable listen.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favourite?

I like Scott Brick's performances. He's not a chameleon in the way some readers are but that doesn't matter, I like what he does as it fits Cussler's style. I especially like his performance of Karina. He has a rough voice which doesn't pretend to be a woman, and the honesty works wonderfully.

Did The Navigator inspire you to do anything?

The Navigator brought back memories of some of my favourite adventure movies from back when I started exploring the world of cinema as a teen. It makes me thing of greats like Indiana Jones, National Treasure and a Hunt for the Red October. It reminds me how much I enjoy a fast paced story full of fun and adventure. I will be adding another Cussler's book to my library in short order...

I like Clive Cussler novels the way he brings Indiana Jones Ex Soecial forces and dastardly villains together with history, fables, legends and what could be into exciting adventures is very, very entertaining 😎

Scott Brick does another great job of bringing Clive's books and characters alive. Another journey around the globe and through history as this story twists and turns through intrigue and mystery. With a super villain, hero and maiden in distress who could want for more in an adventure tale. A difficult book to put down.

Not sure what happened to this book,
Every time I started to enjoy the story it would just go a little to far.
The bad guy is a bit OTT and very predictable.
I really want to like this book more but unfortunately there was just a bit too much swashbuckling in some parts plus some parts seemed to be forced and really didn't need to be in this story.
It could of been a lot better and lacks the suspense and flow of the authors other books.
Don't get me wrong the story starts out great but from about half way through for me it just starts to deteriorate and gets almost childish, like it was written for a much younger audience.
To sum it up, starts out good gets a bit swashbuckling then drags out and the story drops off with a quick ending that lacked suspense.
It just about kept me entertained but I felt a little disappointed after such a good start to the story, sadly I won't be in a hurry to read further instalments

"We must go before it's too late!" expostulated the cliche-ridden stereotypical Englishman, who calls people "old boy" all the time. This book would do well as an adventure of Tin Tin and should be enjoyed by 12 year olds. The storyline is beyond ridiculous and leaves you breathless at it's audacity. All the good guys/gals are lovely, beautiful, muscular, lithe and very very fit. The baddie hit man has a "baby face" and oh how many times you are reminded of this - to the point you just want him to succeed and waste all the smug goodies as they race around the globe relying on huge coincidences and highly unlikely escapes from dire situations.

All in all several hours of complete nonsense. Escapism perhaps, but be prepared to suspend belief completely and pretend you are a young teen. My first and only Cussler book. It might make a good "B" movie. But then, perhaps not.

A Ridiculous Adventure

I’m half way through this and to be honest, it’s proving difficult to remain interested.

The author is normally pretty good. However, the most amusing aspect of this book is his attempt at the female protagonist’s Italian accent. I’d be amazed if anyone can listen to it and not draw comparisons with The Count from Sesame Street. As (inadvertently) funny as it is, it’s really distracting
