About this listen

When Lexi Blake was 12 years old, a fortune teller gave her the following cryptic message: In your 30th year, once the dog jumps over you, your life will change in the most unexpected ways.

Lexi is 30 now, and the following unexpected things have occurred:

  • While walking through Central Park enjoying a beautiful fall day, Lexi eats dirt when a careless dog owner throws a frisbee at her head. A dog jumps over her.
  • Lexi gets a promotion that pays less than her current job.
  • Her crush announces that he's engaged.
  • Her apartment turns condo and she can't afford the down payment.

In order to escape her bad luck, she takes a vacation to visit a good friend in Creek Water, Missouri. But as it turns out, fate has a lot more in store for Lexi Blake.

Not as interesting as I expected

The premisse was good but end up being a bit boring. It was a bit repetitive as well.

WOW! MUCH MORE THAN CHICKLIT 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This second book blew me away. This listen is so much more than chick literature, it has depth, history, family ancestry and Spirituality.

Of course it is still about 'Creek Water' the town and the residents but alot more about the main characters Lexi, Bo & Emmeline etc, plus family, friendships and romance.

Whitney Dineen I think this book is amazing and when Lexi was handed the letter from her ancestors I got chills and shared it with my husband who also thought it was "WOW"

I am looking forward to listening to all the rest of the books in the series.
Tiffany Morgan is a fantastic narrator who does her job well.

Yes I recommend think book as it was brilliant!

Enjoyable

This revisits Creek Water and the wholesomeness of the characters gives the story a cosy and familiar feel. I personally preferred this book to the first, there was more focus on the main characters than that of small town gossips.

The romance is a simmering one, similar to that in the first book, and it would be nice if there was more romancing rather than a 'he said, she said' semi flirtatious banter, but it was enjoyable enough.
