What a rollercoater ride!
I really enjoy Michael Wood's writing, especially his DI Matilda Darke series, so obviously pre-ordered this first book in a new series starring Dr Olivia Winter, a forensic psychologist.. I have to say I was not disappointed!
This is a proper page turner (or whatever t he audiobook equivalent of that is!) and kept me listening when I really should have been sleeping! This book is tense and never lets up. It's tightly plotted and very twisty. The characters and their interactions are interesting and I look forward to getting to know Olivia and DI Foley more in future books. Oh, and not forgetting Stanley the dachshund who is adorable!
Great narration by Olivia Mace.

What’s next!
A different story once again from Michael’s other books, a fair story and some stand out characters. It was great to see Michael wood at his best killing off Olivia’s best friend at the start but I would have loved more of a twist to the killers identity.
Will Olivia feature in more books, I would like to think so but as a fan of his Matilda dark series, Olivia will need to be a bit more gritty.
The narration was well read but perhaps you need to up the speed as there were a few moments I thought slow.
Overall…. Well done Michael woods

Psychological Roller Coaster
A complex, multi layered thriller which deserves every 5 Star rating its getting. Michael Wood's characters are varied and complex, the twists are plentiful and juddering. Anyone who likes a good serial killer book, or Films and TV like Mind Hunter, Criminal Minds, The Fall, or even old school Cracker, will love this book.
I really hope we get to see more of these characters...

Ohhh my .. Michael Wood does it again
Where do you start ? Wow … Not only does he write the fantastic Matilda Darke series , we now have Olivia .. what a remarkable woman .. fantastic .. did wonder about the narration at times as there was a noise in the background and seemed to stop and start but that might be me getting a bad copy of it .. Bring on the next Mr Wood !! 😊

Blooming brilliant book!!!!! Deserves a whopping 5 stars plus…….
Binge listened in 3 days. Couldn’t put it down even when I had to do. It had me gripped right from the start. Highly recommend this title. I did so much housework listening to this because I just wanted to find out a bit more each chapter. The narrators were just as good as the author. Really suited the book. I am keeping this title tucked up in my collections so I can re listen to it some day in the future. Well work 5 stars and a sad it’s come to an end.

Hard to get into at first
Another good story from Michael Wood. Found the narrator quite boring in her tone of voice that was quite monotonous. There was a lack of excitement or enthusiasm in her voice that made the book hard to get into.
Story was good, the usual thriller from Michael Wood. Looking forward to the next book
