Summary

The Mighty Boosh is unlike any show you are ever likely to hear, and one that defies description; the closest you could get to the unique style of Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding would be in the early days of Reeves and Mortimer, with their cardboard props and men with sticks.

But unlike Reeves and Mortimer, the Boosh zookeepers turned postmen Howard Moon (Julian) and Vince Noir (Noel), never leave their own world. The Mighty Boosh inhabits a universe entirely of its own.

Bonus:This audio programme also contains an interview with the creators Noel and Julian plus outtakes from the show.

Very Funny

If it's your sort of humour then you'll absolutely love it. Each episode from the BBC series is presented here with a short interview provided at the end, which explains just why 'Chapter 3' is so much longer than the others. It's fair to say a lot of the situations the characters experience was repeated for the first series of their TV show, but if anything the radio series is even more evocative as you are able to imagine the scenarios in your head. Very silly but with crisp sound and unique characters, it's sure to impress fans. If you don't like the comedy of the TV show though, then stay well away as this is more of the same!

Classic Boosh

How I miss these guys on the screen, how easy it is though to picture the characters acting out an audiobook, prepare for laughter.

Brilliant

There was so much variety in UK Humour in the 2000s.

Spaced, Look Around You, The Office, The Mighty Boosh, Peep Show, Armstrong and Miller, The League of Gentlemen, Little Britain. Julia Davies. Rob Brydon, Kevin Eldon and many more. In some ways this meant that some things were under appreciated as ultimately it was The Office and Little Britain that swept all all else away (at least at the time, posterity may see things differently, and I don't think anyone would have predicted from all of these shows that Ricky Gervais, Olivia Colman and Simon Pegg would emerge as the biggest global stars, although that is what happened).

These comedians all belonged to a generation that was born and grew up in the late 60s and early 70s. They somehow inhabit some of the craziness of that wild time with an exposure to a very varied diet of terrestrial TV that gave them an acute appreciation of genre. They are also of an age to have absorbed the ethos of Punk as children and the House and Rave scene as young adults. They are, in other words, unique and that is reflected nowhere better than in the surreal world of The Mighty Boosh that channels Holst's The Planets as effortlessly as references to Glam Rock and 1960s nature films.

One of the very best radio comedy series ever. Utterly of its own time, but that is not a criticism. A rich and absorbing listen.

MIGHTY!

You have to listen to this. It is so funny, hip, and down right odd. I've fallen in love with the world of the Mighty Boosh and hope you will too.

If you like boosh, you'll love this!

More haphazard, but arguably better than TV show. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes the mighty boosh!
