About this listen

Molly the Maid is used to being invisible. But it's time for her to shine in a brand new mystery…

*THE SPARKLING NEW MYSTERY FROM THE NO.1 BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE MAID*

–––––

Molly the maid is no stranger to secrets…

She sees everything behind closed doors at the Regency Grand hotel: wiping away the dust and grime of guests passing through.

But one secret lies much closer to home.

An old trinket – a faux Fabergé egg – is revealed to be a precious antique during an appraisal at the hotel, making Molly a rags-to-riches sensation. But no sooner has the egg shown its value than it’s stolen: vanishing without a trace.

Determined to crack the case of the missing Fabergé, Molly begins dusting for clues – uncovering a mystery that stretches deep into the past.

For in the pages of a long-forgotten diary, written by her late gran, lie the secrets that could unlock all others – and only Molly holds the key…

I have loved every minute of this amazing story! It was such an incredible journey to go back in time to discover Flora’s life and past! As good and enticing as the other books! So well written! Beautifully narrated too as always!

Wonderful!

I honestly could tell you Nina, which story I loved more, mollys story or floras story.

This is so beautifully written, you’ve had me laughing, crying, feeling and crying some more!

Thankyou for writing story’s for people that love, love.

How I don’t want it to end.

Which is sad as I liked The Maid. Slow and not very exciting. Very generic. The narrator was a bit whiny too. Sorry!

Not great…

Not the best in The Maid series but entertaining enough. The real downside is Lauren Ambrose’s English accent and because much of the story is from Flora’s perspective, you have to endure quite a lot of it. Worth a listen just to continue series.

Not the best

I have read all of Molly the Maid books and loved them all. This book, finises the series beautifully. It was brilliant to get to know Molly's gran better, there were twists and turns to keep you intrigued and the characters are believable in a light hearted way.
Lauren narrative slipped at times but on the whole it was an enjoyable audio book.

Perfect escapism

I have listened to all the Molly stories to date and this has been the most impressive. The story is beautifully written and absorbing.

Lauren Ambrose's narration is excellent throughout. She inhabits the characters and performs the tricky task of voicing them using both American and British accents with aplomb. Kudos to Nita Prose, Lauren and the team for a riveting listen from start to finish.

I can't wait for the next installment.

I really enjoyed The Maid’s Secret, having thoroughly enjoyed The Maid. I was slightly worried that this would disappoint as some sequels do. However, I was completely gripped from the start.
Chapters alternate - Molly’s life in the present and a startling discovery about one of her Gran’s ‘trinkets’ then Gran’s story told through her diary.
Secrets abound in both timelines and we encounter good eggs and thoroughly despicable eggs.
Molly’s goodness and optimism shine through.
I’m sad to have finished!!
(My only slight negative comment is that the accent used for Gran’s chapters was irritating and distracted me a bit from the story).

Molly faces new challenges and rewards and we learn Gran’s story

This third instalment was as good as the other books. Loved it! Polished to perfection!

Brilliant story

To be honest, this was very disappointing in comparison to the other books in this series. Usually, Molly the Maid books have had me gripped and pleasantly surprised at each turn, but this was, unfortunately, really quite dull. I kept turning it off for a while, and eventually willed myself into finishing. The main issue was the Flora sections—not only did these drag, but they felt completely at odds with their English setting, made much worse by the narrator’s terrible English accent! Sorry to be so damning, but I think this would really benefit from two narrators, and I wanted to temper expectations in case others (like me) were excited for this new instalment.

Disappointing in comparison
