About this listen
Nicholas Flamel appeared in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter - but did you know he really lived? And his secrets aren't safe! Discover the truth in book two of the New York Times best-selling series the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel.
The enemies: Dr. John Dee and Niccolo Machiavelli.
Their plan: Steal the rest of what Nicholas Flamel has fought to protect.
John Dee has the Book of Abraham the Mage, which means the world is on the brink of ruin. Except he's missing two crucial pages, pages that Nicholas, Sophie, Josh, and the legendary warrior Scatty have taken to Paris.
But Paris is teeming with enemies - and old acquaintances like Nicollo Machiavelli. On the run and with time running out for Nicholas and his wife, Perenell, Sophie must learn the second elemental magic: Fire Magic. And there’s only one man who can teach it to her: Flamel’s old student, the Comte de Saint-Germain - alchemist, magician, and rock star.
"The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel has everything you loved about Harry Potter, including magic, mystery, and a constant battle of good versus evil." (Bustle)

Love the narrator
I have read the books like 10 years ago. So, book wise it is great. Love the story line of the series. I don't really have a favourite book.
I was afraid that I didn't like that the was narrated by another narrator. However it was good, he did the accents very well. Some of the accents you needed to get use to it, but overall it helped to distinguish the different people.

Even better than The Alchemyst
The story of Nicholas Flammel and the twins continues in this fast paced follow up. This time introducing even more scary and wonderful characters. Set in the back drop of the great city of Paris. I decided to give these books a go based on the recommendations of my children. They are clearly aimed at older children, but they are so good, that much like the brilliant Potter stories I'm sure they will appeal to adults just as much. The other thing that can make or break an audio book is the narration. In this case although the narrator is American he is perfectly suited to the story and does a great job. Highly recomended listening!

Magical Tale
The second book in the series. It's full of magical twists and turns that will keep you entertained from beginning to the end. It's suitable for teens and adults and is packed with science an magic that make sense and follows the story of the twins magical development. Well worth a listen I highly recommend.

love it!!
one problem with the change in narrator is the change of accents. I personally find it beyond annoying. However, the story is so captivating that you get drawn in, see the scene, and ALMOST forget about that little problem. That said, I really love these books and cand get enough of the characters. The story is well written and engrossing. Definitely one for all ages.
