Editor reviews

Washington, D.C., is shadowed by unsettling racial tensions in this raw and gritty whodunit. The audiobook The Lost Brother follows simultaneous investigations of a double murder by aging PI Kevin Kellogg and the morally questionable militant Khalid, who are hired by the suspects. The victims of said murder are Henry James, a prominent African American prosecutor, and Jessie, his Caucasian wife.

Author Bargain Prince does a knock up job of crafting an intense crime thriller, which also looks to examine profoundly issues of race in America. Nick Sullivan builds great atmosphere with his performance, thanks to his vivid voice and tight narration.

Summary

Two investigations attempt to locate the murderer of a prominent Black lawyer in Washington, D.C.: one led by a private detective who has been hired by a white power group, and the other by the victim's brother, who has hired the local black power group.
