About this listen
The Line of Polity is the second audiobook in Neal Asher's popular Agent Cormac series.
Outlink station Miranda has been destroyed by a nanomycelium, and the very nature of this sabotage suggests that the alien bioconstruct Dragon - a creature as untrustworthy as it is gigantic - is somehow involved. Sent out on a titanic Polity dreadnought, the Occam Razor, agent Cormac must investigate the disaster.
Meanwhile, on the remote planet Masada, the long-term rebellion can never rise aboveground, as the slave population is subjugated by orbital laser arrays controlled by the Theocracy in their cylinder worlds, and by the fact that they cannot safely leave their labour compounds. For the wilderness of Masada lacks breathable air...and out there roam monstrous predators called hooders and siluroynes, not to mention the weird and terrible gabbleducks.

good scifi, and a lot of rebels
good stuff, but little too much rebels rebelling or evil theocracy being power oh so power mad.

Another great listen/read
I’m loving the agent cormac series although I have read all of Neal Ashers other Polity and other stories I decided to leave the cormac series for last and it gives greater depth to what I read previously

Great progression
Story almost picks up from first book, many of the characters are progressed.
Lots of grand space opera combined with personal stories of change and some of redemtion.
Once again editing not perfect but overall very good.

Loved it
Great book, read well with just a few inconsistencies. I'm not keen on the narrator's pronunciation of words like ceramel. I accept the stuff doesn't exist but considering its spelling it should be pronounced in the same way you say enamel. There are a couple of other words that grate but other than that, brilliant.

Not so easy going
This series is SiFi, but I found I struggled to stay interested, especially in this book. I found it very disjointed. And like other books in this series the only get going towards the end.

Agent Cormac Series Line of Polity
I have read a fe of this line of books and this was a bit hard going to be honest. Too many "main" characters and Cormack hardly a main character. Just seemed to jump back and forward beetwen too many characters

Just a gorefest
I quite enjoyed the first Agent Cormac book, but almost didn't finish this one. First of all, it was full of unlikely "With one bound, Jack was free" moments. Secondly, there seemed to be little to the story apart from a lot of fighting with unnecessary concentration on the graphic detail of maiming and death. Finally, the villain was like a pantomime villain with a crazy voice and crazy villain cackling. Won't be bothering with any more titles in this series
