Summary

For centuries the tribes of the Nadir have suffered under the despotic tyranny of their Gothir overlords. Disunited and distrustful of one another, the tribes await the coming of a Messianic warlord, who will unite them against the oppressors.

Into this swirling, chaotic landscape come three men who will change the fate of the continent: Talisman, the mysterious, enigmatic Nadir warrior, haunted by his past and filled with dreams of finding the Uniter; Sieben the Poet, searching for the mysteries of life and love; and Druss the Axeman, determined to find two mystic gems to heal a mortally wounded friend.

Together they will journey across a war-torn land and descend beyond the gates of Hell, where a long-dead king holds the key to a secret that will change the world.

The Legend of Deathwalker, this battle-charged tale of Druss among the Nadir, completes the circle begun with Legend and Druss the Legend.

Superb book, technical issue though

Sean Barrett as usual delivers a superb rendition of the always excellent Gemmell. So why three stars? Needed a proper listen through by the publishers. A couple of chapters loop back to the start half way through, which is a little frustrating, and a bit of a poor show. If this happened in the printed book it would have been picked up. Not sure why it’s been left like this for audio?

Great listen spoilt by poor editing

It's a real shame that reputation of some sections spoils the flow of a good yarn. Not the fault of the author or narrator but the production. Hope the next one is better.

Great story, confusing glitches

Amazing narrator, fantastic story, but spoiled by several glitches in the editing.

There's even a glitch in the additional 'sneak peak' reading at the end.

Technical issues should be fixed.

The technical issues with repeating sections was annoying. This should be easy to fix in a digital product. The writing and performance are amazing as always.

What a joy

It’s a wonderful trip down memory lane but this time it’s listening to Druss and Ulric and all the other characters

Technical glitch ruins it

Good story as ever but there are several sections where it loops back to a previous part mid way through the story. Thought I was going mad at first but happens on more than one occasion. It seems from reading other reviews that this has previously been mentioned so baffling as to why no one has taken the time to fix it.

Druss lives - at least for now

This book reveals more of Druss’s life. Its a fantastic tale, filling in more gaps in the hero’s background.
Gemmell is a superb fantasy writer and this production is brought to life well by the narrator.

Terrific stuff from the master of heroic fantasy

Gemmell at his best. Narrated by one of the best Sean Barrett. Spot on stuff 👍🏻

Druss

Great book with solid narration, affected by a little poor editing.
Deserving of a bit more love, but worth the listen or reading of.

Bad recording with many repeated audio

story was great as always and kept me riveted beginning to end. Just a shame it had so many repeated audio sections, so I had to keep hitting the FWD to get back to the story 😩
