About this listen

Containers are revolutionizing the way we build, ship, and run our applications. But like all good things, they come with their own set of challenges. This is where Kubernetes enters the scene.

Kubernetes helps you deploy and manage containerized applications at scale. It also abstracts the many different underlying cloud platforms so that you don't need to care whether you're deploying on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or your own on-premises datacenter. With Kubernetes, you can develop your applications on your laptop, deploy to your chosen cloud platform, migrate to a different cloud platform, and even migrate to your private cloud at your on-premises datacenter.

This audio version of The Kubernetes Book starts from the beginning and covers everything you need to know to be proficient with Kubernetes. It even includes two sections dedicated to threat-modeling Kubernetes and real-world security.

You'll learn:

  • Kubernetes cluster architecture
  • How to build Kubernetes Clusters
  • How to deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes
  • How to secure Kubernetes
  • The meaning of terms like cloud-native, microservices, desired state, containerized, and more...

Fantastic audiobook on a highly technical subject

This is probably the best example of how an audiobook on a very technical topic should be! Nigel skips the dry stuff but explains tge concepts very clearly and even with some humour. He really engages the listener. Even as a former k8s user, this more tgan refreshed my memory, it also lamented me important concepts!

A K8s Must Have! Great content!

I've read the Quick Start Kubernetes by Nigel and thought it was very clear and easy to follow. This audio book builds on the Quick Start and is another enjoyable learning session. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn Kubernetes.

Great book

Really enjoyed it as a Kubernetes overview. I like that the author reworked book content to make it work as an audio version.

Really good overview of Kubernetes

Nigel has put a lot of effort in to make this technical book work as an audio book! It really paid off, thanks for the effort.

Easy listen for a technical subject.

I thought the approach to dealing with a very broad and technical subject great.

Ideal for those who want to get a quick start introduction to the K8S and then be taken quickly through main components with just the right technical detail for an audio book.

Super Engaging Overview of Kubernetes

Really enjoyed this overview of Kubernetes. Nigel's narration of the book is really engaging and he has adapted it well for an audiobook. I will be looking out for more of his audiobooks :)

Good overview

I like this as an audiobook. It is a good start to get a feel for the complexity of kubernetes. I would have liked it if there was a dedicated follow along session after each chapter so I could skip it in my first listen and go back when I had the time.
