About this listen
There’s a reason I hate the holidays, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the literal nightmare of flying three thousand miles in the middle of December.
When my coworker gets the flu, I reluctantly volunteer to take their assignment to write a piece on Vermont’s most famous Christmas small town.
After a delayed flight and driving through a blizzard in a minivan to a mountain cabin in the middle of nowhere, I find myself mixed up in a rental scam.
It’s bad enough the owner walks into my room naked and accuses me of breaking in, but then he tells me all the roads into town are closed. Even if I could leave, all the hotels are booked with tourists for the winter festival.
Even worse, his house is decorated like the North Pole.
Like I said, a nightmare.
The only perk about being snowed in with a lumberjack is that he’s accustomed to the cold and lets me steal his body heat in the middle of the night.
But then that turns into more, and even when I try to resist, I can’t help getting attached. It’ll never work out because we live on opposite sides of the country and have nothing in common.
Except, maybe we do…
My Greatest Joy was previously published as “The Joy of Us” by Kennedy Fox. The bonus chapter and bonus scene are not included in the audiobook version, but you can find them now on my website.

My Thoughts on The Joy of Us
This was a great story with a Holiday grumpy/sunshine theme. Fallon was the grumpy “grinch” who doesn’t like Christmas and Levi is the sunshine Christmas tree farm running, Christmas loving guy she gets snowed in with. Their relationship starts off with a huge mix up and a shock that quickly leads to pain for one of them. But after that things progress at a nice pace with conversation, getting to know each other, and eventually lots of steam. I liked both main characters as well as Levi’s family and the couple from the last book in the series making an appearance again. From start to finish this book held my attention and that was certainly helped by the excellent narration from Andi Arndt and Aidan Snow.

Christmas Hallmark with heat
Reverse Grump/Sunshine - She hates Christmas, he's Mr. Christmas. A funny meet cute. A great Christmas story set in Vermont. Small town, city gal vs country guy, forced proximity, a good amount of heat.
The narration was great! While I'm not an Andi Arndt fan, I can't disagree that she did a great job. Aiden Snow is fabulous as always.

My Greatest Joy
I was looking forward to Levi's story.
Fallon, the Grinch, and Levi, the living Santa. A match made in heaven :)
Such a funny story and I love the circumstances who lead to Levi meeting Fallon.
And of course Dasher is the huge star in this story :D
The small town and all the people there are described so perfectly, so I felt beeing right there with them.
I didn't want the story to end and I could have listened to it much much longer.
The narrators did an amazing job.

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Heartwarming & Joyful!
Kennedy Fox pens another fantastic novel set in their “Love in Isolation” series and I loved everything about it, from their wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines they created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. Fallon Joy, a journalist for a magazine in Seattle, travels to a small town in Vermont to write about their town, which is well known for the holiday celebrations. Despite having a last name of Joy, she is anything but for the Christmas holidays and wants nothing to do with them, but a job is a job, and she will be the one to tell whether this town is anything special. Finding a place to stay was difficult this time of the year but her assistant found her a two-week house rental outside of town, another problem she encountered was getting there, the weather did not cooperate but she got there and finally got to relax, but only for a minute. She hears another person and a dog in the house, and their first encounter does not go very well for that person. Levi White was out chopping wood and needed a hot shower and when he entered his bedroom in his birthday suit, he was not expecting to find a strange woman in his bed and what she does next really takes him by surprise. Fallon learned her assistant booked a scam rental, and now she was stuck in this stranger’s home because of the storm. Despite all the Christmas cheer in the house, it was not an awful place to be. Levi got a kick out Fallon’s name, but he found her to be intriguing and when he learned why she was there, he was going to make sure she had the best town experience for the sake of the town, he was going to make sure she fell in love with the town and maybe even gain some of that holiday spirit. His family owns the Christmas tree farm and their reputation depends on tourism and the people who come to visit. The more he got to know Fallon the more determined he was to impress her and not just for the town but for him too. This wonderfully plotted and fabulously delightful opposites attract, force proximity romance has the perfect balance of drama, charming humor, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance. It is a story that will put a smile on your face anytime of the year. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration is brought to you by the mega talented Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow, who do an amazing job portraying these characters. I love how they take each role and make it their own, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. The quality of the audio is top-notch and so are their performances and delivery of the witty dialogue and handling of all the character’s emotions. These entertaining storytellers are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Full of Christmas spirit
Audiobook review: narrated by Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow
4.5 stars for story / 5 stars for performance
This book was just what I needed to get ready for the Christmas season. Maplewood Falls is the perfect backdrop for a light hearted romance full of holiday bliss. Add in a lumberjack full of the Christmas spirit and an out of town journalist that would easily be mistaken for the Grinch and we get an amazing forced proximity romance for the ages.
The audiobook performance was nothing short of amazing. These two narrators are a dream and handle the dual style audio production beautifully. Each character, no matter their time on page, had such unique personalities and they were portrayed masterfully. This was a pleasure to listen to and was hard to turn off.

Sizzling Winter Romance
My Greatest Joy is book two in the Maplewood Falls series and can totally be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading Falling For Finn as it's nothing short of amazing. Brooke once again hit it out of the park with the vibes. They were absolutely immaculate, this is what a winter/christmas book is, it had all the elements. The snow, the crackling fires, the decorations, the sizzling chemistry, the Christmas tree farm, it was absolutely perfect.
Fallon & Levi were an absolute delight. Levi is the absolute epitome of a Christmas obsessed man and Fallon is the grinch, although she had her reasons for it. I adored them so damn much. All their interactions were perfect, the chemistry and tension build up was scorching hot and once the spice hit, 🥵, Brooke can write those spicy scenes. I loved watching them fall in love, and for Fallon to fall back in love with Christmas.
Absolutely beautiful and heartwarming story. Perfect to curl up next to the fire while watching the snowfall. Immaculate winter/Christmas vibes and a romance that will have you sweating !
🎧 The narration by Andi Arndt & Aiden Snow was so darn amazing. I absolutely loved them together, how their voices just meshed so perfectly. Those spicy scenes were so hot sending butterflies to my stomach and when they admitted their feelings, I absolutely melted. Amazing performance.

Great Setting & Fabulous Characters!
My Greatest Joy is such a fun audiobook! The narrators have done a fantastic job of playing out Levi and Fallon’s characters. Levi is the quintessential alpha cinnamon roll lead—he has such an amazing heart and realistic outlook on life. He handles Fallon’s prickly demeanor with class and charm. The situations these two get into are by turns funny, flirty, and filthy hot. I loved meeting this town and its personalities in book one of this series, and this second novel has brought even more magic. Loved it!

Fallon & Levi
The Joy of Us is the final book in the Love in Isolation series. Levi’s and Fallon’s antics were brilliant and you could tell the brewing sexual chemistry between them was going to be off the charts when they finally “did it”.
Andy Arndt and Aiden Snow were amazing as Fallon and Levi. Can’t wait to listen to more of their narrations.

Finally a Grinch like me
I'm so glad I read this because as someone who gets extra grumpy around the holiday season, I could totally relate. We also love a forced proximity and when the MMC is the sunshine one. You've got it all here so what you waiting for?? Plus the audio reviewers were fire!!!
