Superb story-telling

A brilliantly written series of profiles that wonderfully illuminate Japanese history and culture. Harding evolves previous attempts to weave a wholistic and collective image of Japanese identity, blending myth and fictions, with factual accounts and matters of record. Deeply inspiring and excellently orated.
