Summary

Brought to you by Puffin.

Puffin presents eight six stories from master storyteller Dick King-Smith.

This collection featuring one of Dick King-Smith's most famous stories, The Invisible Dog.

The Invisible Dog is the story of a girl who tries to satisfy her yearning for a dog by introducing an imaginary Great Dane called Henry to the house. Her wish comes true, and she is allowed a real Henry—but there's more than a hint that old Mrs Garrow, with her cackling laugh and black cat, may have been involved.

The other brilliant stories featured this collection are: 'The Clockwork Mouse', 'King Max the Last', 'Noah's Brother', 'Daggie Dogfoot' and 'The Excitement of Being Earnest'.

Another Wonderful Collection (Minus One Story)

Here we have yet another lovely selection of stories from Dick King-Smith - as with the first release, we're treated with tales that have never had a proper audiobook, and the introduction of another "new" Storyteller. While Evan's range of voices seems limited to some stories, he does display the right tone of voice for easy-listening: rich, grounded and assuring. Great for bedtime and long journeys.

Notable stories included are 'King Max the Last' (a sequel to 'The Hodgeheg'), 'Noah's Brother' (a light-hearted take on the Noah's Ark story) and 'Daggie Dogfoot' (one of many books by DKS featuring a pig in the lead role). Ideal for children and the young at heart =)

HOWEVER - the only issue I have is that one of those stories, 'The Excitement of Being Earnest', isn't included here, despite it being mentioned in the Book Summary. Could have been moved to another later release, but who knows? But that's really the only puzzling mystery that I have with this collection.
