Summary
Augusta “Tucker” Delacroix is perfectly content running a successful oil field supply company until her brother and business partner, Jim Bob, dies suddenly. Things go from bad to worse when she gets a call from Monique, a beautiful stranger who turns out to be Jim Bob’s mistress and mother to his son. Monique needs financial support for her child, and Tucker steps up - it’s what family does. Willow Vernon has never approved of her sister’s affair with a wealthy married man, but when Monique becomes ill, Willow assumes care of her nephew. When Tucker insists that financial support should give her custody rights, Willow’s ready to go to battle. Tucker’s the same kind of irresponsible philander as Jim Bob, and she’s not falling for the Delacroix charm like Monique had, no matter how tempting Tucker might be. Family ties bring Tucker and Willow together, but they could also tear them, and any chance they have at love, apart.

A family at war
I loved this book, it was such a great story, this book made me cry a lot, which shows it was well written.
The story is about Tucker and Willow, who meet at a work meeting, not knowing who each other are and they hit it off. Then Willow finds out who Tucker is related too and that’s the end of that, but two deaths and an orphan child related to them both by blood and a will brings them back together, they have to put all their differences to one side and work together to bring the baby up. There is so many ups and downs in this book and makes you connect with all the characters. You really want Tucker and Willow to get their happily ever after, they have been through a lot and deserve to be happy.
Ps I think Tucker’s mum is awesome and really liked her character. The story is from a few points of view (Tucker and Willow & Jim Bob(Tucker’s brother) & Monique (Willow’s sister).
The ending was brilliant too.
The narration was really good and added to the story.

Another Lesbian Gem 💎
Keep with it. This story i found starts a little slow but once half way in it starts to get juicy. a few surprises I didn't see coming. Sad at times but what a beautiful ending. This story made me want a child with my partner so much.

Tucker's Voice
I know this is a good story—I do. But I could NOT get past Tucker's voice. It was too off-putting to continue. I might read this one instead because I'm returning this version. The manliness coupled with the accent just made it impossible to endure or believe she was sexy. I do love Lori Prince normally though ... just not this time.

Tucker's Voice??
I am a huge fan of narrator Lori Prince but she just missed the mark on this one. Tucker sounds like a man (alot) which makes it very unappealing. I had to stop in chapter 3. The concept sounded good but I just could not get past Tuckers voice.

Exceptional work.
This is an amazing work. Over the years my preference in books has changed, as many things do. The Inheritance checks off all the boxes for me. Believable and thoughtful plot - check. Characters that you cheer for and cuss - check. A believable path from the worlds drama to a place of happiness- check. A love that transcends the world - check. The vibrant picture of heat Ali Vali paints between the characters is a great bonus.
Personally seeing a family that is almost as dysfunctional as my own and being able to laugh is priceless.
Do yourself a favor and fall into the world created between the covers Ali Vali never seems to disappoint and The Inheritance is no exception.

loved it
I absolutely loved this book. I also loved Lori Prince's narration, a lot of the comments said a lot of people had an issue with Tucker's voice. I found it just fine because I could tell these characters apart.
This had my favorite trope of family. I will listen to this a few times. I cried, and cried and felt love and heartache. I hated one character, then wanted to smack some weasels. loved the baby. highly recommend this... I'm weak for this trope though, family or forced family for Convenience... my kryptonite.

Not for me
I liked the premise of this book, but like others, just couldn't get past Tucker's voice. She sounds like an uneducated redneck dude, and it just doesn't work for me. This will be only the second book I've ever returned, but I can't justify keeping this one. I didn't even make it 2 hours in before I had to stop.
I normally like Lori Prince very much as a narrator, and I've enjoyed some of Ali Vali's work as well. Don't take this as an indictment of either of them.

Excellent Audio!
I Enjoyed The Inheritance. Summary? Family connections and drama usually lead to problems. I had already read the book.

Touching story
The author took the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions throughout this book. One minute you were in a heated love scene the next a drama filled family situation, then this reader found herself laughing for a bit and then crying at the way the scenes were written. The emotional content of this story was beyond great and kept this reader in suspense as to what would come next. This is a love story that can actually mimic real life experiences. Wonderfully written and thoroughly refreshing as well as completely enjoyable.

Glad I took a chance
Please don’t let the voice of Tucker keep you from listening to the narration by Lori Prince of this book. You will come to realize that the timber of the voice matches the character perfectly. This book was very good and in a few parts it was so perfectly voiced, that I cried and that is unusual for a man audio book in this genre. You feel the emotions of these characters and the pain and the reality of life and try love. Lori does a fabulous job here and without a doubt, she and abbey craden are the queens of these stories.
